As for bridge deals, I'm on the fence as to whether they're all that bad. Yes, If you get a guy signed long term early you'll likely get really good value at the back end of the contract. But if you do a bridge deal that still retains their RFA rights at the end of it (ie. 3 year), you have that many more potential years of the player with the franchise if they sign long term after that.</div></div>
I agree. I hope Ferly can come back healthy and well because i have always been a fan. As for bridge deals, yes they are nice, the only problem i have with them is say you sign an RFA (no specific name just example) to a 3 yr 6 m per year bridge deal. All fine and dandy, until his contract is up and hes worth 9 m or something like that. Long term maybe he would have signed for 7 or 7.5, .but now you end up paying more per year long term
