He can move up to 2nd for games played and minutes played, that seems to be about it.

Wallstedt isn't ready yet and lets be honest, Flower is a GREAT veteran backup with leadership.

This is almost criminal,
As a canes fan: I love it,
As a pens fan: I would like to file a police report, this type of assault should not go unpunished

Tampa is last team I would think enclined to retain salary for a low pick. What am I missing here!?
Edit.: Ok, a lot of LTIR money, but since when TB doesn't use every cent of their capspace to contend?

(MTL/WPG) - Monahan for 2024 1st (WPG), 2027 3rd (WPG)
Well, well, well, look at what an unretained Monahan brought in, an unprotected, unconditional first round pick and a 3rd (If they win the cup).
Good luck out there Monny!
Reddit r/Hockey about to implode.

(MTL/WPG) - Monahan for 2024 1st (WPG), 2027 3rd (WPG)
And thus Kent Hughes completes what might be an unprecedented two-step of transactions, getting paid a 1st to take a player and then reselling that player for another 1st. Shoutout to Brad Treliving, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Anyway, fair deal. Monahan should be a good addition to the Jets roster, and people who are complaining about his EV points will likely be surprised by his output with better wingers.

Fair deal, WInnipeg adds a needed center and rounds out their top 9, Montreal gets a 1st for an expiring contract (and someone who they took on as a cap dump with a 1st previosuly so amazing asset management)

(MTL/WPG) - Monahan for 2024 1st (WPG), 2027 3rd (WPG)
Montreal gets a 1st round pick to help their rebuild. Trade away a pending UFA and still have a chance to resign him in FA
Winnipeg gets the best UFA center available to help with their playoff run. They have a very good prospect core so they can afford to trade a first. Get a 40-50 PT center who's young enough that they can resign long term if they'd like
Montreal W based on we literally got a 1st round pick for taking Monahan

Less than Georgev, Vanecek and Gustavson even if the whole 3 years are unrestricted. A steal.

Both teams go for it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>You seem to be ignoring half of this trade. You'd be moving a 3rd round pick and getting a 1st for a guy who has barely played over the last couple of seasons. You'd be subtracting one forward from your roster and adding another, who you could immediately flip for at least a 3rd. You literally just went through this exact scenario with Petry...
I purposely skewed the value heavily in your favour and you still find a reason to complain.</div></div>
You haven't skewed anything in my favour and that has been explicitly explained to you. I originally went with Monahan and the 3rd for the 1st, no retention. You said Monahan retained for the 1st. I agreed.
Still absolutely no use in paying full price for another winger with term. It's not complaining when I'm simply trying to get through to you.
If Monahan is a viable trade piece it's because he's healthy and performing, meaning the 1st would be a typical expectation for Monahan retained. There is nothing skewed except your oblivious view, half of this trade is counterproductive for MTL and can be cut out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Affectionate_Side_64</b></div><div>Literally so I wouldn't have to argue over it, but here we are! You realize we're talking about a 3rd round pick here, right? The guy scored 20 goals last year, is great both ways and is paid like a 3rd/4th liner for the next few years. Why can't you just base your opinions on similar trades as a precedent? Are you telling me you wouldn't accept this trade as the Habs?</div></div>
Why would we move a draft pick, as a rebuilding squad, for another winger and block more roster spots? Oh, and for multiple years? This makes no sense from an organizational standpoint. If TOR can get more for Jarnkrok then from a Leaf standpoint it would make sense for them to take the better option. MTL using their final retention on Monahan means there isn't a slot open to increase Jarnkroks value, we also don't have a roster spot available for him. Wtf are we going to use him for? You're asking us to PAY you to have him sit in the pressbox until something better comes along. No thanks. Like I said, if you can get more so easily then why don't you go do so? I'll wait. Going to be disappointed when nobody offers anything more than that 3rd you "discounted" him for, if anybody even wants to offer anything.
