PRE-DRAFT MOVES
If anything, in 2025 when you are done holding Burns retention buyout Vlasic. Fml, one of the worst contract in nhl history.

PRE-DRAFT MOVES
I don't think trading Couture is going to help. He has a few years and this is a team that is in the bottom and doesn't have a good farm to pull from...so you need him for a few more years while Sharks collect top 5 prospect picks in the drafts and slowly build up....think Arizona. Arizona is sorta on the cusp of turning it around, Sharks are at least a few years behind in a same model.

I agree, but he still has potential, but mostly I struggle with the amount we gave up for him if as a rental...Bruznevitcz we will regret trading.

Totally disagree. He plays a unique role and there isn't anyone in the farm that's like him and nhl ready.

lets get this done
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Warpbox</b></div><div>3 Years for Ian Cole???</div></div>
1 year for Cole if resigned. I don't think he gets resigned.
Zadorov gets 3.75 if resigned and I'm not so sure but take him over Cole. They have guys in Abby that need a chance too, need some cups of coffee with the boys in the NHL.
They need a RD, and Woo and McWard are untested. Tanev? Resign Myers @ 3.5mil for 2 years?
For those prices longer term for Blueger and Joshua. And I honestly think Mikheyev is on the hot seat. He might be traded and then you sign better defense.

Rumors heating up about Petey to Canes
If it did happen, which it won't, but if it did. The Canucks don't want that but close. They need centre and right defense depth, and left wing. I propose this:
Drury
Necas
Morrow
Ponomarev
Mercuri
1st 2024

And you will definitely need to pay more for moving a 8mil dollar contract. His value is closer to 4.5mil.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>Canucks also traded Kuz as part of that deal at his lowest value but I guess the Flames liked him enough.
I'd say Guentzel's value is higher than Lindholm.
Maybe Korczak comes off or tight conditions on the 2nd.
I'd say the fit in Vegas is also ridiculous. Playoffs would be a serious problem out West if Stone came back.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VGKNation702</b></div><div>Unless there’s a contract attached to that, that’s far too much for a rental</div></div>
I agree with both. More than Hanafin but same structure of trade, but definitely not for just a rental, then it's too much.

That's a big overpay for guentzal as a rental given the quality, age and experience of the prospects.
I would suspect that is what Pittsburgh is looking for. So maybe not the 1st, or drop the best prospect. I Think Lindholm trade value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CrownRoyal</b></div><div>I think much more than that. Calgary would be taking on nearly $15m in salary between Campbell and Ceci, I don't know the going rate for cap dumps but that has to be at least a couple 1st rounders.</div></div>
I don't see Ceci as a dump, he has a similar tofu le to Tanev play but not as reliable. A definite downgrade.
But 2 * 1rst, Broberg and Ceci and Campbell for Tanev and Marky. I think it's close, but maybe Oilers add another B prospect...Calgary needs to fill the cupboard with guys that are on the cusp of NHL or are quality prospects. MAYBE RAPHAEL LAVOIE

Kerfoot, Killorn and Colton are liabilities. And there are definitely better options than Bortuzzo.

Juuls is so underrated, he is a young prime Schenn type play. Hits, blocks, blocks lanes, has a good pass, defensively minded. He would allow Toews to open up offensively. Byram is still finding his defensive legs. I did think about Byram over Fabbro, but again the better defensive play and the fact that Fabbro is a natural righty.

Love this!
If he works out, then next is Podkolzin. If they both do then Sasson, Raty and/or Woo and McWard. Need to see what they do in NHL, and prep for the playoffs...asses & strenghten the depth.
This is some flippin' exciting hockey.
Also, Woo got sent back down.

The Best 26yo team under the cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Hmm. For starters, I would not choose a guy who is a winger now as my 1C, especially when there are an array of genuine 1Cs who make less than him. For allll the chance creation Barzal's line does, somehow the guy is barely above break even on his goal share. A ton of flash, but often no result to it.
Also do not think Cat and Kap are worth their AAVs to the point that you should scrimp and save so hard to fill out half the lineup. Maybe Kap, definitely not Cat. Too one dimensional. Overall, your forward crew is not the most defensively responsible/successful bunch.
The D core is excellent defensively, but overall a little wooden with the puck. And " a little " is probably polite. You need another puck mover/PP guy in their somewhere.
Finally, I'd surely not trust Samsonov as the #1.</div></div>
Thanks for tha analysis. I actually really agree with you about Kap and cat, especially cat. As well as the lacking defensive play of the forward group.
I Can agree about Barzal too, but I like his speed and flash, but couldn't justify him over others on the right wing.
I chose Samsonov b/c he is having a bit more of a hot streak lately, but ultimately the goalie choices were/are samsanov, vladar, Thompson, Ingram...so, I don't know if there is anyone other than Thompson that excites.
Okay, all that being said. Check this remake.

Tarase lo for Kuzmenko is basically a lateral move and Canucks exchange an upcoming RD prospect and a 1st for a 2nd. Nope.
And rather keep Brzustewicz and Lekkerimaki over Jiricek that does have the patience to learn the game., bad attitude, though I agree he should have more play time.
