Good signing at a reasonable amount, and he's till a RFA upon expiry. Now we can stop seeing those Ullmark and Swayman trade proposals on CF.

U and I both know Lohrei isnt NHL ready, and that defense is pretty brutal anyway
Dont think its realistic to keep Hall/Marchand and sign Bertuzzi, need that money for bottom 6 vet + bottom pairing

Since being traded to Boston, Hall has 111pts in 158gp. That's good for a 57pt pace over an 82 game season. Since when is a fringe 60pt player not worth a 2nd & 3rd? Boston doesn't have to trade Hall at all, so the "cash strapped" point is irrelevant. The only way the "need" to move Hall is if they re-sign Bertuzzi. If they do that then they'll already have a trade lined-up for Hall.

Ditch Nieto and re-sign Cogs for me, and that bottom 6 is all over the place. Malgin-Newhook-Olausson and Nieto-Meyers-O'Connor would make more sense. Still not great as a bottom 6 but not awful either.

Overhaul
Arizona isn’t trading crouse or hayton. They just developed hayton into a top 6 C, why attempt to do it all over again for no reason with newhook, while losing your best power forward? Girard isn’t the type of D Arizona is looking for, no value to them

Keller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>thats a massive haul for him lol.
10-12oa in a deep draft
high end center prospect
high end RSD prospect
another top 50 pick
its Clayton Keller... hes a ppg player on a fair to good contract dont glorify him lol</div></div>
Perhaps my previous comment was misleading. It is not a drastic overpayment, and that would be what it takes to pry Keller out. PPG winger on one of the worst teams in the league, on a bargain bin contract with 5 years remaining starting next year, and more than likely to be the next captain of the Yotes, that offer is a lowball.
You say that Lapierre is a high end C prospect. Just as a comparable, he isn’t better than Ryan Suzuki, and Suzuki isn’t considered to be a “high end C prospect”. I am a fan of Lapierre, but he is not as high end as you believe him to be. Plus, C is the last position Arizona would go for, considering they have Cooley and Geekie in the pipeline, Hayton with the Yotes, and I won’t rule out the possibility that a big name C ends up signing there within the next couple of years. As for what I have seen from Iorio, which hasn’t been that much, he is a bit more of a mystery Wild card to me. Besides, Keller is one of their biggest revenue generators. Unless a team is reaching into their untouchable purse, there is no reason for the Yotes to sell Keller.

Well, you said they don't happen but they do. Not worth it? I wouldn't have any issue trading a 1st round pick for Vasilevskiy, Hellebuyck, Shesterkin, Sorokin, Oettinger or Saros.

Look at DP's current contract - he's <strong>already</strong> taken the $$ discount and as a result is allowing BOS to go all in in the HERE & NOW!

No to Brassard to. Time to stop blocking youth with spare parts. McLaughlin, Lauko, Merkulov, Beecher should camp battle for a couple of roster spots.

No. No pipeline, no draft picks, no young cost controlled guys. It boggles my mind that people would think some how after 133 games, not even 2 full seasons and at just 22 somehow Newhook needs to be moved. Yeah color me biased but I’ll take Newhook slotted into that 2C role with those wingers and bet he produces at a 50pt pace instead of CS, keep OO, and the 23 1st AND not help VGK.
