Frederic for a 3rd is easily worth the difference of Batherson to Lysell. Bruins could pick up another 3rd line centre from another team for the same price.</div></div>
You are jumping the gun. Of course Batherson is the better player right now. He's also 5 years older and might be carrying some extra baggage. The Bruins should stick with Frederic's contributions to a winning team and Lysell's relative youth and potential at this time.

Add Zegras, Drysdale and McTavish to that list plus Terry reasonably signed long term and you should be VERY partial!

Frederic is an important piece of Boston's winning ways. Lysell still has a chance to be a more impactful player than Batherson so value wise it's further off than you think.

The Jeannot trade was just terrible for Tampa. Did not add the second liner they desperately needed last year and hamstrung them for this year and into the future.

Enough with the Bertuzzi talk, especially in free agency next year.
Bruins have bigger fish to fry and that's their need at center ice.
The status quo is working. Don't fool with it. Add in free agency next year.

Lindholm absolutely fits the Bruins needs but free agency is the sensible way to do it, if he gets there. Boston needs to be patient this year no matter how this season unfolds.

See the above for Garland, Grzelcyk, Lohrei and the cap.
The Bruins have their own version of Garland in the minors in Lysell who will be much cheaper for years when his time comes in Boston.

Don't forget, last season he had a severe case of Covid and lost 20 pounds at the beginning of the season. He also played the entire season with two sprained wrists.
The Kings are all in on this kid. If the Kings could take a mulligan on the 2020 draft knowing what they know now, I think they'd still take Byfield over Stutzle.</div></div>
If the Kings had a do over they would take Stutzle hands down. Don't kid yourself. You are letting personal bias cloud your mind. I am not an Ottawa fan but Stutzle is a stud and he will be for the next 10-15 years. Proof will be in the pudding.

Off the top of my head I'd probably put Hughes, Makar, Tkachuk and Stützle ahead because they're all so much younger, but I don't think there are many more long term deals that top this.
Edit: probably Fox too tbf</div></div>
Great comparable is Hampus Lindholm. Same age as Toews and after the 23-24 season will be under contract for 7 more years, making 6.5M per with a comparable skill set/effectiveness level.

No matter how you cut it the Bruins are short one in their top 6, two if Poitras goes back to junior.
Just because your name is in the top 6 ( JVR, Charlie Coyle ) does not mean you belong there.

The name came as a consequence of an in-joke that went a little too far.
Also, Devils would take a do-over on Haula for Zacha one for one every day of the week.
There isn't a bigger secondary assist merchant in the NHL than Zacha at this point in time, hope the Bruins will enjoy his empty-calorie scoring for the next 4 years (to a tune of 4.75m lmao)</div></div>
The Bruins will take a 26 year old Zacha at 4 x 4.75 as opposed to the Devils paying a 32 year old Palat 6M per for the next 4 years, that's for sure.

Colorado outplayed Seattle in almost every playoff game but their issue was guys like newhook and erod getting pushed around.. then Cmac comes in and trades newhook a guy that isn't reaching his potential for a 1st rd pick and essentially ross colton who's more experienced, had a higher compete level and an edge that newhook doesn't have... obviously time will tell but colorado seems to have improved their team with that trade.
I'm referring to guys more like kaut and bowers and probably olousson wasting away in the minors</div></div>
Loved the Newhook trade. Makes them a better team right now which is most important and gave them a D piece for the future.
Kaut and Bowers (Boston) are in the minors because they are just not good enough. Don't give up on Olausson. He's only 20 and just starting his ELC.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fail4Nail</b></div><div>As of right now (our window of winning a cup) Kulak is a better player than Broberg. I never said he's a top 4 dman, but can play up the lineup if need be (2022 playoffs against the kings when Nurse was suspended or 2023 playoffs against Vegas when Nurse was suspended). You mentioned trading Kulak and moving Broberg over to the left side, that's not helping our defense right now, if anything it makes it worse.
All I was saying was we need a top 4, RH D, because that would transform our d to the below, which is good for a contending team, like us.
Nurse-X
Ekholm-Bouchard
Kulak-Ceci
Desharnais
It sounds like your hesitant on making any changes to our defense, because it would compromise Broberg's development, which we don't have the patience for right now.</div></div>
Signing Bouchard caps Edmonton out. There will be no trade for another top 4 D unless LTIR shenanigans come into play.
I find it amusing that you don't have patience for Broberg excelling in your top 4 right now because "We're in our Cup window now" but apparently you believe one of your two goalies can provide "We're in our Cup window now" goaltending.
