There is absolutely no fit for Kuzmenko in Boston. Keep the 2023 first in the Bruins pocket. ACGMer's need to stop trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the Bruins current roster, especially top 9 F and top 6 D.

The Bruins are without a doubt not trading for Horvat nor are they signing him in free agency. They won't ignore Pavel Zacha either. GM DS should take a bow for that trade.

For the roles that they play and the contracts that they have yes, Craig Smith and Trent Frederic are better for Boston than Boeser. The proof is in the pudding.

That ship sailed 2 years ago. Boston already has a 5'9" LD who is 2 years younger with a cap hit of 3.7M, has 1 year left on his deal who does not make 8.5M in real dollars the next 2 years. St Louis is stuck with that one. Everything being equal or even less than equal, Motown was the place for him in free agency. Opportunity missed for both sides?

Bravo. You have legitimately shown how difficult it will be for the Bruins to field a cap compliant team by factoring in the carryover bonuses from this year that are due in 23/24.
22/23 is the last shot. The team can be good next year but it will be very different.

Any ACGM'er who isn't Montreal slanted in their views OR has a pulse says no to this deal along with Don Sweeney for that matter.

Canucks Discussion 3 - Horvat for Lysell
For the Bruins its all about this year so they are not trading Foligno or Clifton. With Bergeron, Krejci, Coyle and Nosek they don't need Horvat this year and won't be able to afford him next season so no deal.

It's really that important for you to dump Smith's expiring contract and pick up a struggling LW that the Bruins don't have a spot for, all at the expense of a 2024 1st? How come all I can think of is Tom Kurvers who the Devils turned into Scott Niedermayer?

Don't kid yourself. For Boeser it's about goals. Vancouver would not trade for a player they have no shot of signing and Dumba refuses to begin with.

Horvat to Carolina
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>KK’s contract would be the reason</div></div>
Not so sure that is an "anchor" of a contract. Look at what some good teams pay their "3rd" line centers and the make up of their teams. Carolina has been paying Staal 6M. Boston pays Coyle 5.25M. The Islanders pay Pageau 5M. Tampa Bay will be paying Cirelli 6.25M starting next year and right now he is 3C. At worst Kotkaniemi will be 3C for the next 7 years after this one at 4.825M. At 22 you would think his production should increase into the later years of his contract and his cap % will obviously decrease. That and the fact that Carolina would be giving up a blue chip prospect AND a 2023 first along with a player they value ensures they would never do this trade for a player who is a rental.

Kadri in Colorado was perfection performance wise, both for himself and the team. It's too bad they couldn't make it work contractually for both sides.
Colorado has work to do to get back to last years level and Kadri likely never in his career reaches the personal and team success that he achieved last year.

Bruins are not upsetting the apple cart at this point.
Keep the 1st for the trade deadline or better yet a blue chip prospect in the 2023 draft that is loaded.

Right now, they are a contender to make the playoffs. That's it. Trading a first in a stacked draft for a player that won't make you a Stanley Cup contender because of other team deficiencies is not advisable.

Sorry but no. Frederic has carved out his spot in the bottom six on this team and Smith is the 12/13th forward who will come through for this team at some point this year.
Guessing that team chemistry takes a hit as well. Lauko can play in the bottom 6 on next year's team but when push comes to shove does not have the experience to go where this team wants to go this year.

Because he is determined to sewer the chemistry and performance of this year's team all for the sake of acquiring someone who may or may not be able to play center ice on next year's team.

LD Option - Cam Fowler
I don't think Boston regrets paying the price for Lindholm. Swap out Kulak and swap in Barrie and the dollars make more sense. Hefty price to pay but the Oilers get an elite skating defenseman to play with McDavid for the next 4 years.

Chychrun is not an upgrade. Avs can find a way to sign Toews if they really want to, and they should. Have to keep that 1st for a future ELC prospect or a trade for a non-rental 2C. You are not getting Pinto.

Option 2
Just stop. Not disrupting the chemistry of this team and the bottom six by trading a 1st for an overpaid third line winger who has another year after this one. For now, keep Smith and his expiring contract as your 12/13th forward as insurance as you move towards the trade deadline and playoffs.
