actually that was a mistake. I meant to sign both for 8

Yes, I meant expendable and I didn't say he's going this year but if there's a trade that includes a good young forward it's most likely him.
Again those trades can easily be changed but I think those players are the most likely getting traded. It's all a matter of opinion

I was thinking that too however CJB and PHI both have Krug type dmen which is why I didn't use him in a trade for either.

You're giving up way to much for Simmonds and not nearly enough for Panarin.
and Backes has a NMC, he's not waiving it for philly.
Why does everyone want to trade Heinen. Guys an awesome player.</div></div>
Then switch Backes to the CBJ trade for Panarin.
I don't disagree with you on Heinen, one of my fav players and hopes he stays a B for a long time if not his entire career, however he's expandable for a trade like this.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FutureBruin63</b></div><div>Krug and a prospect for Wilson is a terrible deal for us. a proven PP QB and borderline 60pt defenseman for a guy who has yet to score 20 goals, or top 35 points in a single season? i understand if we have to move Krug at some point, but not in a deal like this
also, quantity doesnt always equal quality. lot of players for Simmonds yes, but the value isnt there. i cant see Hextall saying yes to that at all.</div></div>
1. The Krug trade for is bound to happen if not for Wilson then for someone like him I'm sure. I mean yeah we could probably get more for Krug but a Wilson type player would benefit the team in more ways then one.
2. The Simmonds trade works for both sides as Philly gets to bolster their D and we get a mainly constant, except for last year, 50+ points guy that has grit.
Instead of Wilson who would you trade Krug for?

I know DeMelo is asking for a lot but that's a ballpark number that can easily get bumped down a few mil. I as well think Krug and Quaider are out the door. I'd love Tom Wilson or his type of player on the team hence why I traded for his rights. The Simmonds trade could easily be Panarin. I do think the B's will go for one this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>t4tree</b></div><div>Good trades, although I feel the Canucks would win a lot of these trades just based on value.
Juolevi will probably crack the NHL roster, so no need to sign DeMelo.
Virtanen aint gonna make 5 million dollars. Maybe a 2 year, 2.5 million bridge deal.
Goldobin probably gets on the roster as the 13th forward, but I agree with starting out Gaudette in the AHL, so that he can maximize his playing time, while developing himself with other prospects like Dahlen, Lind, Brisebois and Gadjovich.</div></div>
I'm not 100% sold on Juolevi yet however he did well in Finland last year. I actually had Goldy in the roster and think he'll get a better chance this year. Gaudette needs a bit of time with the Comets I think but will be back and forth this season. I did overvalue Vert which is why I'm going to change that.

Why the leafs are screwed after this season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juice</b></div><div>I extend apologies as well for any rudeness on my end. There's been a lot of ACGM teams coming out since Sunday afternoon either poaching RFA's with unreasonable offer sheets or flat out claiming there's no way the team can keep Matthews-Marner-Nylander not that they signed Tavares.
Most reasonable Leaf fans know that we will be right up against the cap (a place we're familiar with) and that our biggest hole is at RHD with no immediate solution or cap space available to address it.
The way I see it, we are icing an identical lineup that put up 105 points last season except we've swapped Tavares for Bozak and will have a young, promising player stepping into JVR's spot. Matthews/Marner/Nylander/Johnsson/Kapanen/Brown/Hyman will all be one year more seasoned with hopes they'll all take another step forward. Having Matthews-Tavares-Kadri up the middle with skilled wingers on each line provides a lot of depth. Most people forget that Reilly is only 24 years old and getting better each year. The defence was league-average last season but if Zaitsev plays more like yr1 than yr2 there will be a bit of improvement there too.
At the end of the day, I still think Tampa-Boston-Toronto will dominate the top 3 spots in the Atlantic which will make getting out of the 1st round a battle still...but the team, on paper, is stronger right now that the one that finished the season</div></div>
Well said. The d is a good start with Reilly however they don't have that shutdown Dman they need. Regardless I think this upcoming season will be a close repeat of this past season. I can't wait for it to start.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juice</b></div><div>haha...now we're on the same page.
Yes...It will be very tight. and may involve losing a Brown/Kapanen/Johnsson if the core players demand more...and if they want to improve the D they'll likely need to include Nylander in order to get anyone of significance and be able to fit it. I think they'll roll with what the have to start the season and reassess after they see how the on-ice product looks</div></div>
Of course all of this is speculation. I'm sure they might make trades to get that blue line tighter but as it stands right now the team isn't looking good for next season. Well not looking like they will be the same.
Side note, I apologize for the rudeness in comments before.

Why the leafs are screwed after this season

lastly you also mention: "they just need these players to out score every team in the league smile Apparently defence is a foreign word to them" . Lets be honest here; Krug / 41 yr old Chara / J. Moore / MacAvoy (defensively) / Miller / McQuiad; are not the standard bearers for defensive responsibility. Last year the Bruins gave up 19 less goals than the leafs. 9 of which were empty netters vs the Leafs</div></div>
I don't watch leafs games so I'm going off what some of my leaf fan friends say which is why Kap is at 3m. As bad as Gardiner was in Game 7 I still think they'll keep him since he's still one of their better dmen. Matthews is going to want a McDavid type deal. He will want the same if not more then JT91.
As for my Bruins, yes they were shopping for him and thankfully never got him. For out D, Krug is likely out and we have depth there something the Leafs don't have.

Why the leafs are screwed after this season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juice</b></div><div>Yes...silly me....I should have known referring to a franchise as 'queefs' was a term of endearment.
You're betting off rolling with the fact this ACGM team is a troll. You've since edited many items...but If you spent time on it and wanted it to be taken seriously...you would have:
a) Increased the cap
b) Horton goes on full cap relief
c) Signed players closer to expected figures (this has been edited since)
The Leafs have players at the AHL level ready to fill in bottom 6 roles, all making under $1m right now.
It's possible to get all RFA's signed to fair market contracts and be under the cap. No, our defence will not be feared by our opponents...but the team was right around average last year defensively and will likely be average again this year.</div></div>
Why would I increase the cap? Even if I did that wouldn't help much.
Horton is on cap relief
There's no way they sign for less then what I posted.
Again, being real here and not trolling. Why would I go with something that I'm not doing.
As for the AHLers I could bring them in to make a full roster but that would make me go way over the cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BoysInBlueBleedBlue</b></div><div>Ehhhhhhh, not really. The cap will be between $83-85 million. Kapanen will sign for less. Nylander will be around 6-6,500 million. The leafs could also easily buy out Marleau and trade Gardiner to find some cap space. Heck, Marner could also take a hometown discount if he wanted to stay with the team he grew up loving and watching. Little things like this could add up to potentially $8-10 million. Don't get me wrong, I'm a leafs fan and I also think they will have a tough time keeping all these stars. I definitely don't think they are screwed in anyway, they just will have to get a bit creative with the upcoming contracts.</div></div>
This I can agree with however I don't think Marner will do the hometown discount especially since he's one of the Leafs only playoff producers. He knows his value and he will take top dollar.

ahhhh the jealousy consumes the league. click the above an I think it shows the #s can/will work. after all we do have a math genius running the team.
I love how all the commentary here is from Jets/Bruins/Isles fans. Fact is JT91 , was under paid previously. had a crap team put around him, in a stadium that was falling apart / made for the basketball team, and made no promises to anyone publically that he was staying. He served his 8 years on the Island fair and square..
Now he is properly paid, has a well oiled machine of a management structure around him, playing for his boyhood team, endorsements galore (if he wanted them), close to friends and family, has an amazing young roster around him. Every team in the league would want JT91, and would/will make the sacrifices to make it happen. so why is everyone so butt hurt he made the decision that was best for him....... Like doughty/Stamkos/etc.</div></div>
This is not a jealous post. I could care less that JT91 went there. I'm happy he didn't coming to Boston and happy we can save money for better players to trade for. At no point did I say I wanted JT91 so I fail to see your point.

How would you know how much effort I put into this. In fact I spent more then 2mins. Most of the Leafs AGM teams are pipedreams so that's not really a place to look for some inspiration. Also, there's been no insults to begin with.
