<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>The debate for 2nd best dman in the draft was a pretty wide open one. Seider, Broberg, Soderstrom, York and Heinola were all in the discussion. I think he's a great player for his age and is going to be a very good NHL defenseman, but passing up on guys like Podkolzin, Zegras, etc. to get him is a very interesting decision. Defense is the most valuable position in the league right now, and Detroit probably saw this as an opportunity to get a good one and took it.</div></div>
I thought the same and I really liked Podkolzin and Cozens. Then I saw some highlights from the development camp. Seider is ridiculously talented. Fast, agile, creative, and great hands.

Sorta. He gets called up when one of the shut down guys is injured for a long period of time. He played a lot at the beginning of the season when the Wings had 4 dmen out with injuries.

Yup you're right he'll be 19 with a March birthday and completed 3 seasons in the juniors (thought he was older for some reason). So he can't play for GR until much later in the season.

TBH he might get sent down to Toledo. Grand Rapids Defense will have Lindstrom, Saarijarvi, Sulak (RFA), Hicketts (RFA), Lashoff, MacIsaac (He's too good for juniors), and Oliwer Kaski (front runners to sign with us).

(DET/WSH) - Jensen and 2020 2nd round pick for Bowey and 2019 5th round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>2nd round pick and bowey for at best a 3rd pairing defensemen. Not a very good trade for Washington</div></div>
Don't underestimate Jensen. He's sound defensively, a good puck mover, an excellent skater, and he's extremely adaptive/persistent. He passed like 4-5 players in the depth chart to be 2nd on the team with TOI and be the top PK'er on the team. I mean we made off like bandits, but that is by no means a bad trade for WSH.

TDL with WSH TOR TBL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Wow I just gave my opinion on a trade, you don't have to get angry. If you thought I was putting down Burakovsky, the Capitals or you I want to apologize because it wasn't my intention. AA and Larkin are on different lines. Thats fine if you think he isn't worth 1st and if he doesn't get traded he will resign with Detroit. There are rumors here in Detroit that Holland just wanted to test the market and that Nyquist isn't going to be traded. I'm still leaning toward he gets traded..
Burakovsky is fast, plays at both ends of the ice, likes to hit, has no problem going to the dirty areas and has decent hands. Do you agree?
Detroit has 3 players that play a similar style (I said similar style, that doesn't mean I think they are even when it comes to talent): Tyler Bertuzzi, Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm. I like Bertuzzi an would probably take him over Burakovsky. Now I take Burakovsky over Abs and Helm all day long. The problem is the last 2 are overpaid and both have NTCs if we didn't have one or both of them then I take Burakovsky in a heart beat. If you have time take a look at the Wings AHL team (<a href="https://griffinshockey.com/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://griffinshockey.com/</a>) with the exception of Zadina every forward that still has a shot at the NHL fits that same mold.</div></div>
Lol I wasn't angry. Tbh I made that comment while pooping. I also meant Burakovsky would do well on either the 1st line with Bertuzzi and Larkin or on the 3rd with AA and Helm/LGD. I think Burakovsky plays a lot like AA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Detroit wants a 1st for Nyquist Ken Holland has made that clear and has said he has no problem resigning him. We are also retaining salary which increases Nyquist's value. I know some people don't think salary retention is a big deal, but when a team has $37,888 it becomes a big deal. Detroit really doesn't need Burakovsky we have a few players that play a similar style.
If Washington gives Detroit a 1st for Nyquist then it doesn't matter if Burakovsky is or isn't part of the deal. But that's just an opinion!</div></div>
He WANTS a 1st. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. IMO Nyquist isn't worth a 1st especially a TDL that has Panarin, Stone, Duchene, and Simmonds on the block with few buyers. Burakovsky was a 1st round pick so I guess KH would still get a 1st. Fast players usually play well with other fast players so I think he'd fit in pretty well on AA's or Larkins line. Then we can always sign him in July. So we'll have Nyquist and Burakovsky. It's also looking like Washington doesn't really want him.

Funny I was just about to make a armchair gm where Tarasenko becomes a Capital.
Idk maybe Eller, Burakovsky, and Bowey with the picks in season to make the cap work. Stephenson is practically an Eller clone.
I think Jensen will go to you guys too (or Nashville). You'll love him he's really competitive and takes advantage of his chances. He'll take off some pressure from Carlson and Niskanen.

Swap out Zadina with Svechnikov. Better players have been sent back to juniors (Dubois, Huberdeau, Marner, and Drouin) and Wings never have freshly drafted players make the team. Switch AA with Rasmussen, Blash is gonna try him out at centre again.

Zadina is going to play in GR most of the season. Better junior players (Huberdeau, Dubois, Marner, Drouin) have been sent back to the juniors and the Wings never give roster spots to players drafted that year. It's Svech's and Rasmussen's spots to lose. Bert is going to play with Moe and Larkin. Nyquist isn't worth a 1st. He's worth about a 2nd and 4th. Grabner trade for comparable. Vanek has a NTC and he never really gets much interest at the deadline. He'll probably stay with us all season.

Giving you 5 stars because you have Chevy in the line up instead of Zadina. Players with better junior numbers have been sent back to Juniors ( Marner, Huberdeau, Dubois, Reinhart, Glass, etc.). Vanek on the 3rd line instead of Ras and Helm is in the line up over Frk (if healthy).

I would've been happy with that Detroit trade if it happened in June. Jarry would be our #4 goalie right now. That's fair value for AA and he would fit right in with Pittsburgh. He would have to play with Malkin or Kessel though.

Red Wings trade + deadline deals
Nielsen is going to be our 2c and he's actually pretty good (we just used him in an exclusively shut down role last season) and Svech killed it his rookie season in Grand Rapids, he had issues with his neck injury and has loads of potential (he'll probably make the team out of camp). We don't need Shlemko because he takes up a spot for Hicketts or Hronek and a 3rd is just insulting.
