Iunno what did Colorado do to address their issues? I guess if a Kadri was there during the playoffs they could’ve beaten Vegas? Maybe. Toronto Iunno I’m not sold, we’re betting on Bunting becoming Verhaeghe essentially, the unknown Campbell-Mrazek tandem, Spezza not falling off a cliff, Keefe’s decision making (who’s controlling the ship cause the PP stunk and no adjustments were made), and a lowkey thing is Muzzin getting injured in the first round of the last two postseasons

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>I don't need much of that either, apart from the fact he's the only proven top 4 d-man on a rebuilding team that has been trending down for a few seasons now.
People said the same thing about Weber 3 years ago, in 2018, after MTL had finished in the toilet of the league, which led them to pick KK: «oh Weber is washed up he can't do **** anymore he's crap»
And then he returns the season after and boom, everyone now suddenly admitted that he was still good all along.
Doughty has been through the same pattern, except he doesn't have a Jeff Petry to help him out. And LA was a bit better this season and guess what? DD looked much better than the season before.
It's that simple.
Meanwhile you got a d-man who's had THREE «meh» playoff runs IN A ROW, 2 of which he was straight up terrible at defense on CONTENDER.
It's really that simple, this is the bottom line.
Hamilton is good, and one of the best PP quarterbacks in the east, but not an elite d-man.</div></div>
Hamilton’s also partnered with Slavin, arguably the best defensive defensemen in the league. Who’s Doughty’s partner? Is it still Maata lol?

What the leafs will look like if the sign Rielly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>I mean I feel like you might want to not spend ten million on goaltending before giving up Rielly. Also, If Sandin is so good to get 3.5 million then you can consider moving on from Holl or Dermott (or Rielly, but that would probably require moving him in season). Also fair to consider that if Ritchie and Bunting (or Robertson who isn't here) are working out in the top six and Kampf is working out at 3C what exactly is Kerfoot providing to this team and whether it might be prudent to move on. Bottom six guys have to come cheaper than 3.5 unless they're centers.
No reason to galaxy brain trading good players in your contention window when that doesn't have to be the path. Given what some defensemen are getting, that Rielly contract is more than fair for Toronto.</div></div>
So why’d they trade for McCann as a back up Kerfoot if Kerfoot wouldn’t have value after this season? I’m agreeing with you but now most likely if Kerfoot plays in the bottom 6 this season his value is ranked cause no team is giving up much for a 3rd liner with 1 year left, especially not a prospect like Hallinder who they gave away to be in this position right now. Confusing chimes

They have everything needed to win over every other team in the league. A red flag to me is they got 8 goals scored against them in the ECF 2 years in a row. Iunno if that’s compete level or goaltending being unstable but IMO that’s a confidence breaker in the room

Trades With Long and Full Explanation
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>Ovie took 10 season before he found playoff success. Matthews is 23. No need to make huge change. Find some cheap low risk, high reward periphery changes and the success will come.</div></div>
Technically in the 10 years he got the team to the semi finals 6 times not including the cup run, he entered the league in 2005 and in his 4th season he got the team to the semis. This team hasn’t seen the 2nd round since god knows when. Now the team is arguably weaker without Hyman and we have to replace him with either Bunting (one good half season), Ritchie (first season where he didn’t look like a bust), or Kerfoot (he should be given a shot at the top 6).

This is actually the sad reality of a lot of Americans in general. Wanting surgery but not getting approved even though they’re symptomatic. In Canada of surgery is an option and regular medical therapy isn’t enough, you can find a surgeon to do the surgery. It might take you months to get it, but you’ll get it. God bless Canada

Dubas has learned from that and has made good signings, draft choices, and has built a pretty good team in this cap hell era. Like lets be real this playoff loss was not on him it was on the players.
I still think there could be one more move but meh I like what's been done so far</div></div>
If they go ahead and sign Nick Ritchie to a reasonable deal it would be another sneaky good deal. 3 relatively young forwards with Bunting, Ritchie and Kase to replace Hyman, Foligno and Glachenyuk
