Not even close for Eichel and you're never getting a third for Kulak. Especially from a team that doesn't need him

Dubois
Dubois is a 22 year old, at least fringe 1C. That offer would be an insult to Columbus.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildnochance</b></div><div>Wild aren't giving up another young c in Joel Eriksson ek, my gosh
So you basically have wild giving up definition of 4 1st round pick or more, 4 players for 1 good players etc... haha</div></div>
I'm fine giving up JEE in a Dubois trade. I look at it this way: the wild may be moving out a center but it's for a younger, better, higher upside center who would help make up a lethal top 6 C duo for the future with Rossi. There's also no way that Columbus wouldn't be interested in or demanding Joel either
And it's not like the Wild can't afford to move out Joel, especially if it means PLD. There is enough organizational center depth to make this make this move. Especially since in this scenario, you're not losing any centers. You're moving one out, bringing one in

The theory is that he signed to help give the Jackets more time to get full value

He has been willing to in recent history. Nothing suggests that anything has changed there.
The only issue is trying to find a balance within the deal. Cause it seems like every time someone posts one of these deals, at least one fanbase is unhappy with it.

Its an L no matter what but I get why he did it. Trade the 35 year old slow as molasses center for the faster, younger (not young) and position flexible guy to try and find a piece to pair with your new shiny Russian (potential) superstar.
It makes sense in theory, especially when you get the value right. But That's the issue, Guerin didn't get the value right in this one.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>When it's comparing offensive d-men it's something that's worth consideration. Also when you're a d-man making $7.5m not getting 40p a season don't look so great. It's not like Spurgeon is a shutdown d-man, he can't carry a weaker d-man, and can't stay healthy.
MN (never should have re-signed him) should dump him the first chance they get. He'll be in the Burns/Seabrook category of overpaid 30+ RD very soon.</div></div>
He's the far better between him suter d and is a very responsible two way defender

Funny that points are nowhere near the only or best way to evaluate players. Especially dmen

Roslovic Pionk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OttBeavers</b></div><div>Spurgeon from the comments above should be a multiple Norris trophy finalist. C’mon everyone he is 31 years old with an huge contract of over 50 million dollars. Another small defenseman ( listed at 5’9 And 170 lbs) is just what the Jets DON’T need. For you Minny fans who say this is a bad trade for your team ,I dare say it would be a far worse trade for the Jets. Short term Spurgeon would definitely be an asset, long term we would regret that contract as most likely Minny will . When you think of it most long term deals for players in their early 30’s usually backfire in the last half of their contracts ( see Subban / Parise/ Neal / Lucic. ........... wouldn’t be surprised the Jets regret the last 2 years of Wheeler at 8.2 million. But I understand why they signed him at the time.</div></div>
Even if you don't like the term of Spurgeon's contract, this is still Minnesota trading an elite dman for a 3rd liner who recently requested a trade and Pionk who is simply not close to as good as 46, and it's not a debate. Still a good defenseman, just not on Spurgeon's level
So if Winnipeg plans on competing now, they do this everyday of the week. Not only is the value in their favour, but it also helps them accomplish what they want to do now, and that's win. This is a substantial upgrade for them
But this isn't even worth a debate, as Spurgeon wouldn't even consider waiving his NMC

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Salzy</b></div><div>Henrique easily gets a first + after the Stephan deal, was on pace to set a career high in goals, no chance ANA adds anything to him especially whats likely to be a top 10 pick thats a joke. I know what I would want would never get accepted in a million years. I never said it would
I am not interested another overpaid 30+ year old on the Wild. Especially when it means giving up pieces I'd much rather have than the players contract. 5.8M for the 4 years is steep to say the least
Btw, he wasn't on pace for a career high in goals and that number will only decline as he continues to age
