Eichel Why not

What (if any) Calgary pieces would Buff want? Looking like it could be a top 10 pick in this years draft

If its change the core time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>It isn't an offer that makes any sense for Ottawa. Monahan doesn't make any sense as the main piece for Ottawa. He's not a 1C, he doesn't make them better, and he'll need a new contract when Ottawa looks to be competitive.
Looking at the rest of it, it's a lot of good, not great. Dube is a bottom six forward, Mackey is basically a depth guy imo, and Pelletier is a good prospect, but he's not an impact talent imo.</div></div>
-Monahan can be a 1A until Stützle or Norris are ready then becoming a 1B. He leads his draft class in goals and third in points. He can be traded fairly easily at the end of his deal
-Dube is a top 9 forward who can play any forward position https://dobberprospects.com/player/dillon-dube/
-Pelletier is also a versatile player who can play any forward position. Has a similar style to Marchand/Konecny/Gallagher https://dobberprospects.com/player/jakob-pelletier/
I would have to agree its probably short on getting Brady, but I think it would just need a few tweaks

Eichel at buddys 55-6 1st value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJCrv</b></div><div>Better question. How does that package make the Sabres better now and in the future? If he gets traded, AT LEAST 1 piece coming back will be a young stud. Like Byfield or Lefraniere. Personally, I’d rather have the center. Calgary just can’t match that.</div></div>
I see them getting better in the now and future by shedding large contracts for future signings of their young studs. And can easily move out these Calgary pieces if they don't fit/ match time frame to win for young assets or picks. I understand them wanting Byfield, Lafreniere or a similar very high-potential player, but I don't see a team in the West with enough elite pieces in a win now mode or cap space (LA - Byfield/Turcotte, ANA - Zegras/Drysdale, COL - Byram/Newhook) Maybe MIN with Rossi/Kaprizov? NYR would be the team with the best assets I'd think, but idk if both teams would be willing to trade elite players in the same conference

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJCrv</b></div><div>If the Sabres trade Eichel, it’s not anything close to this. Calgary doesn’t have the pieces the Sabres would want. It’ll most likely be the start of another rebuild, so top young players would be coming back for sure. Calgary has nice pieces, just not the right pieces.</div></div>
Why would Buffalo want to do another complete tear down when they have pieces like dahlin, jokiharjhu, cozens, mittelstadt, olofsson, quinn, Luukkonen. Surround them with some more players with experience/skill rather than just one very skilled

If his value is lower, than Skinners should be as well.

He's a 24 year old d-man making 4,950,000 for 4 years including this year. Where as Johnny is a 27 year old left wing who can't perform in the playoffs making 6,750,000 for 2 years including this one.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Killorn's NTC moves to a Modified NTC on July 1st, so he's likely to be traded. I don't see any of the other guys waiving. Most likely Paquette, Coburn, McElhinney all get moved.</div></div>
Do you think around 18 mil of cap space is enough to resign Cirelli, Sergachev, and Cernak? While also filling out about 11 NHL roster spots if those other guys go? Also why would Coburn waive when it is probably his best chance at winning a cup (If they don't win this year). I count roughly 8 guys in their system that they have under contract next year or that they could resign for fairly cheap.

2020/2021
Who is likely to be moved from Tampa at the deadline or offseason when they have Stamkos (NMC), Palat (NTC), Gourde (NTC), Johnson (NTC), Killorn (NTC), Hedman (NMC), Coburn (NTC), McDonagh (NTC) who are signed to pretty significant cap hit or in Coburn's case another year remaining on a cup contending team? Along with having Kucherov and Point, who are very unlikely to be moved being high end players and big time contributors. Then they have guys like Cirelli, Shattenkirk, Sergachev, and Cernak on expiring deals that are likely due a decent pay raise. I get letting Shattenkirk walk could happen, but that's just one player. They do have some good prospects that could step in, but they will too need a pay raise in a couple years, when some of those no trade guys are still under contract. Even if the salary cap does increase a million or a bit more it still doesn't seem like they'll be able to keep everyone. Thoughts on some potential things they could do?
