Two questions about swapping Kuznetsov for Dubois
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Yeah 2 years of Kuznetsov for 1 year of Pierre-Luc Dubois makes total sense. Not.
Connor Bedard to the Caps is a major pipedream and isn't happening.
And PLD isn't signing no 1 year deal at the same money he's currently making now.</div></div>
1. Kuznetsov wants out of Washington and Dubois wants out of Winnipeg.
2. Bedard to the Caps currently has a 3% chance of happening, per tankathon.
3. That's Dubois' QO.

Caps Are Not Trading Wilson
Should just start making Nylander for a later 1st + cap dumb + a ton of b-c level prospects.
1st - Mantha + Pilon + Riat + Nardella for Nylander

That's a whole lot of nothing for the Caps. A kid that just went their waivers, a 3C, and a 5th? No way.

So increase the cap unrealistically, make a bunch of unrealistic trades, and you have a very unrealistic ACGM. Well done.

Sandpaper n Defense
-Once again, Jake Muzzin isn't waiving his NTC to go play for a rebuilding team, not when he's playing for a Cup contender 90 minutes from his hometown.
-Korpisalo is an interesting player to target as a bounce-back candidate but this trade is actively bad for Columbus. If you're swapping two mediocre/bad goalies but one is older and has a much larger cap hit ($3.8M vs. $1.3M), you need to offer more of an incentive than the RFA rights to a guy with Kase's injury history.
-Minnesota passes. Their D corps is pretty much set for next season (Brodin, Spurgeon, Dumba, Goligoski, Merrill, Kulikov, Addison all signed for next year and Middleton as an RFA) so adding Liljegren isn't necessary; especially not if it takes away Hartman, a guy who just scored 34 goals this season and is signed for 2 more years @ $1.7M. Minnesota needs him to be part of their core going forward the next couple years as they deal with the Parise/Suter buyouts.
-I just don't see why Arizona makes this trade. Nylander doesn't take them from the basement to the playoffs, so why are they giving up their best trade chip *plus* a 1st and a 2nd? I could maybe see this deal if you needed to trade Auston Matthews and wanted to send him home, because he's the kind of guy who can carry a franchise. Not Willie Nylander, though.

Wilson
WSH isn’t parting with Wilson unless it’s Matthews. I get that’s a ridiculous overpayment but WSH has no reason to trade Wilson, as he’s on a good contract and fits perfectly on the 1st line in DC. He’s the future captain in DC once Ovechkin and Oshie are gone, WSH has absolutely no reason to get more soft.

No I agree you can’t fire the Coach but I don’t think they can make any moves that will fix the problem. They need to find a way to win with the talent they have or they will lose

A New Defense for Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFox23</b></div><div>Why don't you try explaining them to me.
Who collects the raw data from games? Is it Instat? Do they now have people at games or is it automated? Does anyone check the data? Does the collector know how the models are built? How do different services arrive at different figures for same games/players? Why do players who fall out of NHL fall out of their models? If players are being measured on percentile, that seems to be relevant. Why don't they release passing statistics? (some data collection groups track them and there is a reason they don't release to media clients). How come all the other bells and whistles like coverage areas and reach aren't shared with media clients? Why are people even using per-60 stats when they know full well, no two players are going to see the same types of minutes making them statistically incomparable?</div></div>
It is useless to argue with Jared as he thinks analytics are the be all end all of player evaluation. There is a reason Dubas has not gotten a team with 4 superstar forwards and analytic gems out of the 1st round. Analytics are a tool and like many other tools on their own they are useless but when used CORRECTLY can be useful. Unlike how Jared uses them just to say players he doesn't like are bad. Chiarot is not an analytical dream and may not be a puck moving D man but he blocks shots, clears the front of the net, punishes players trying to enter his end of the ice with the puck, and is a great penalty killer. When paired with a puck moving D like Kulak or Romanov, he is very effective and the pairing thrives. The issues arise when he is paired with another less mobile D man like Savard as both are positional players instead of strong skaters.

My dream is a tough leafs team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>sure, i get why people like wilson, but he's not near as rare as people like to pretend. Also the impacts of what make him rare and valuable dont really translate to wins in the same way as other parts of the game. They are sprinkles on the cake that makes a good player. People love sprinkles, they are pretty, i get it, but a player who produces more is always more valuable.</div></div>
I just think that maybe the missing ingredient to the leafs is some sprinkles we’ve got all the other ingredients now we just need that final touch. We usually do well against other fast skilled teams and tend to struggle against the bigger tougher ones like Calgary and Boston he’ll even Montreal Anderson always seems to kill us I’d really like a guy that can give us some pushback

Lol yes let’s ignore esp/60. This doesn’t fit your narrative so I gues it doesn’t matter ,right? Have a good day but FYI this is why Wilson is looked at as Nylander =. He scores more 4v5 and nearly as much 5v5 but hey at least Nylander can score more on the pp. 😊 doesn’t seem like you can comprehend logic so this is where i end this conversation. Lol
