TRYING to have a quick turn around
EDM retaining 2.5mil on Campbell defeats the purpose of trading him as his buyout is either less than 2.5mil or slightly above (in year 3). The only thing they'd save is the 1.5mil for 3 years at the end which, in the grand scheme of things, is pretty minimal. On top of that, you have them making said trade in order to acquire a goalie that they don't really need (unless you don't trust Skinner after his performance so far). The trade simply makes no sense for EDM.
Since I'm unclear on where you're drawing the line between cost to dump Campbell and cost to acquire Jarry, I'll refrain from commenting on the value.

I can't see Anaheim having any interest whatsoever in a middle-pairing LhD. The Ducks have Fowler and Mintyukov ahead of Kulak and LaCombe, Vaakanainen and Zellweger to compete for playing time with him, and all three of the latter lefties have played RD this season so Kulak's purported ability to do that effectively isn't a game-changer.

Oh my!
San Jose doesn’t do that, and I also do not see Kostin coming back to Edmonton. I am failing to see why Anaheim needs another LHD, with Fowler, Mintyukov, LaCombe etc. We are also downgrading in net with getting Vlader. The guy is not good at all..

I would not call Anderson AHL caliber - he reminds me of a Great Beer-league player who used to play AAA... but who smoked a joint in the parking lot before the game.
The tools are there but his IQ is presently negative.

Summer 2024
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Kane is NOT a cap dump. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do and Kane is guaranteed to score 20+ every season, plus he's big, fast and physically intimidating. That has LOTS of value in this league.
Stop with the nonsense.</div></div>
I 100% agree while he hasn't been playing the best (scoreless in what is it 16 or 17 games) he is still useful in everything you mentioned, but I do see the new GM consider moving him (NO MONEY RETAINED) if he doesn't preform in the Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>Ottawa will take Ceci off your hands if you pay a 2nd round pick and accept future considerations.</div></div>

Coyotes 24-25
EDM wants to upgrade on Ceci and, yes, part of how they do that is by trading him. Another part of how they likely do that is to move Kulak because they have Broberg waiting in the wings. This would free up ~5mil in cap space with which to put towards a RD that's a better fit with Nurse and for the team (better skating, greater puck-moving capabilities). Making this trade a.) doesn't free up much space (3.25mil Vs Hayton QO), b.) leaves them likely having to keep Kulak because they wouldn't have Broberg anymore, and c.) does so for the purposes of bolstering the C depth with a C that has yet to establish a consistent level of play in the NHL. On top of that, the 2nd is probably the most I'd pay for Hayton alone- if I had a need for him.
With all that in mind, EDM refuses.

Merzlikins solution
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>If cap is their issue why would they trade Campbell ($3.85M buried) for Elvis ($5.4M)? I think you just destroyed your own argument.
Edmonton's incentive to pay to move Campbell is cap relief. They aren't interested in a <strong>more expensive</strong> backup / AHLer.</div></div>
See my previous response. The only way it makes sense is if the Oilers believe that Merzlikins is worth the money. But yes, I'll freely admit that what I wrote there made very little sense. I started this ACGM as simply a Merzlikins buyout and then realised that all those Campbell+ for Merzlikins proposals that I found so horrible really would be very benificial to the Blue Jackets if a separation between them and Merzlikins is inavoidable, which I didn't believe at the time. Obviously, if the Oilers don't believe in Merzlikins as the solution, they should just buy out Campbell and the Blue Jackets should either trade him for Kuemper as discussed above or buy him out.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>CBJ trading up is fine, but we've also don't have a good history of doing so:
Carlsson (29th) for Dermott (34th) and Dzierkals (68th) in 2015, Aho (35th) Carlo (37th) and a bunch of other 2nd rounders were notably still available (Hintz, Cernak, Sprong, Greenway, Andersson, etc...yikes that draft hurts.
Lynch (56th) for Nilsson (62nd) and Cizikas (92nd) is also notable, in 2009, as well as Moore (21st) for Palmieri (26th) and Mat Clark (37th) in that same draft (double-yikes).
Mayorov (94th) for Smith (128th), Michael Neal (149th) and Jamie Benn (129th) is also particularly egregious.
Trading back has historically been better for CBJ, and is pretty continually proven to be the better option:
2014: Turgeon (63rd) for Elvis (76th) and a 5th the next year
2013: Jarry (44th) for Heatherington (50th) and Bjorkstrand (89th) as long as you think Bjorkstrand > Jarry
2019: Schwindt (81st) for Hjorth (104th) and Voronkov (114th)</div></div>
I don't think they should be afraid of it based on previous mistakes. It's a judgement on a case-by-case basis. I propose it here because I really like a player that I think might go right around there. If that wasn't the case, I'd stand pat.

I like this a lot, stats are fantastic and its cool that his is Patricks son signs with the team that he failed score a empty netter against. I'm already liking Pracey much more Wright, Stonehouse, Ungar, and now Stefan are much better then any of the FA that where added under Wrights watch and is exactly what the Oilers need to be doing with how little picks we have had the past few drafts
