Bergy can play with Copp and Sprong. Dirty Joe centering Kostin and Fischer. Fabbri will end up on IR like he always does. I think the D pairs are accurate. We'll have to see what the chemistry is like. Dirty Joe should get more. I have him at 1.5 mil AAV.</div></div>

This is also my sample line-up with 1 change - Copp at 2C and Compher at 3C to provide LH/RH balance since this is the first time we will have it in a LOOOOONG time.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AmeriCanadian</b></div><div>It's functionally the same price that Ottawa paid last year. Idk that it's a steal at all</div></div>
Yeah.... def not a steal and I don't like giving up the NYI 1st this year. Give up BOS '24 1st, Zadina and a '23 3rd. DET shouldn't give up any 1st or 2nd this year unless it is to move up in the draft. Stevie has OTT where he wants as the Cat will only come to DET or DAL and sign an extension, but DAL doesn't have a 1st this year so why give up a 1st this year?

They are not just spending a first, they are moving down 15 spots only, similar to Mrazek deal, but Mrazek was still at least serviceable.

Next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>Any source on this because what I have heard is that the top-5 is vastly better this year than many of the past drafts but the rest after that is pretty "standard"
Even if there was a big difference of talent between 2 drafts, it would take a major DUD vs an incredible draft to have a 7th OA and 17th OA as equivalents
No matter how you slice it, 7th OA > 17th OA. I would have never expected to see someone argue that to be honest.
2nd vs Kubalik (you said it yourself)
3rd vs 3rd
It is NOT more than what they paid for him, it is a bit less.</div></div>
Yeah that is confusing, but taken out of context. I said A package of 1st + Kubs + 2nd or 3rd is better than what the Sens gave up.... The 9OV, Kubs and a 3rd would be more more than what was given up.
'23 7th OV < '23 9thOV
2nd (39th OA) < Kubs (you can use him for the season and still trade him for a 2nd)
'24 3rd (was 2 draft years out) = '25 3rd
A fair and reasonable offer is 17th OV, Kubs and a '23 4th or '24 3rd which is slightly less than what the Sens paid. Wings have more leverage as the Sens have been told he wants to be in DET and really cannot afford him anyway when other, bigger holes, have to be plugged. If he goes to DET and more is given up, I would be very shocked.

Disagree that the 17th OA from 2023 has as much value as a 7th OA from 2022</div></div>
If you look at the pick number, yes, the 7th OA is better than the 17th OA, but the players at 7-9 is not rated as high/higher than the range of 14-18 in this years draft. This years draft is DEEP, which is why a lot of teams are trying to acquire 1sts.
A package of 1st + Kubs + 2nd or 3rd is better than what the Sens gave up. Kubs by himself will fetch a 2nd rd pick at the deadline and for the Sens he can provide 20 goals on a cheap contract. Berggren and Raz are not going anywhere and the DET 9OV would be a massive overpay and silly. It would be terrible asset mgmt to provide more to the Sens.

You need to include at least one piece among :
- DET 1st
- NYI 1st
- Berggren
Then choose among other pieces to complete :
- Kubalik
- Rasmussen
- 2nd round picks
That's about it. Nothing else interesting (of course, not mentioning the 5 assets Detroit should not trade)</div></div>
Sad thing is, you're not going to get more for him than you paid...... I feel the NYI 1st, Kubs and maybe a 4th is the most...... With the NYI pick selection, the prospect in that range is similar to the pick the Hawks received last draft.

The 17th overall pick is good and the 2nd round pick could be okay, but the 1st in 3 years isn't what the Jets need right now.
Try this... 17th OA pick and... Amadeus Lombardi or William Wallinder and the 2nd round pick.</div></div>

Still think that Kubs is worth a 2nd and that would be even at the deadline as he will score 20 if on the Sens. Replace the 2nd with a 3rd and it sounds about right.

It will be Berggren OR the 1st, not both. Max I'd give is 17th, Kubs and a 3rd. Kubs has value for OTT next year in the top 6/9 and on the PP. If it's Berggren then add in '23 2nd and '24th 2nd.

The Wings are after 3 things if the 17th pick is in play:
+ Scoring winger - The cat, Kyle Connor type
+ #2 Center - Lindholm, Schiefle type
+ Younger RHD with upside - Boqvist might meet that but Peeke doesn't

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GoGuins18</b></div><div>Fair points. I like Addison so will be interesting to see the return.</div></div>
Overall I would disagree, before this year, Addison didn't really play at all and was scratched many times during the season for poor play and didn't play in the playoffs even when he should as Klink and Merril were turnover machines and the PP looked absolutely horrid.
Lundqvist had the higher draft pedigree and was wanted by multiple teams which drove the price up to a 1st and for most of the year played like he was a steal then fizzled out.
Sandin also much better Addison, but cap crunch and TOR had many other options.
Romanov is a better all around defender than all these players, but the price I do feel was too high to pay for him.
