Didn't know about TOR's "DND" list for Merkley, thanks for the tip. I agree, roster most likely stays as is.

I'll be kinder than the others and say McDavid is the only player that would move Matthews out of TOR.

I would edit this trade to Laine for Nylander but with either salary retention or draft picks from WPG to compensate for the term we'd be giving up.

Not sure if two 2nds is necessary, I may be wrong, but I think Heinola and one 2nd would work.

I wouldn't bother with the Loui Eriksson trade; just trade TJ for picks to MTL.

Just my thoughts, happy to hear feedback.

Before everyone loses their minds, remember, it's just a thought, not saying this is what they <strong>must</strong> do. Additional conditions could also be retaining 1.893 salary on Marner or trading Willy instead.

Once again, just a thought, not an idea I'm preaching to the Leafs mgmt team.

This wasn't a serious proposition; just playing around. Also, no need to get upset over a 3rd for Johnsson; it's not a real trade.
