Nah, Fitz is going to have to do <strong>SOMETHING</strong>. I agree that Allen has calm down the crease, but if <strong>ANYTHING</strong> happens (and its jersey, of course G crap happens-Its the Broduer curse). The prices that were out there will come back down to earth. Marky and Ullmark will be options without moving Holtz/Mercer. Saros is another question. I think he liked Marky because of the extra year to allow younger Gs to develop. For instance Marky/Allen combo all through the year with Daws/Schmid in Utica. At TDL see what Allen's interest is and *** he's playing. Ride out the season and one of the Utica Gs comes in the following season or Allen is our rock! But Fitz will be skewered if there is not some kind of add

Trouba has been getting outchanced by the opposing team when he’s on the ice for 6 years and counting now.
Has he considered playing better?

If jets trade Hellebuyck
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>I probably shouldn't have implied there are multiple perfect comparables. You're right that goalies of this caliber are rarely traded.
The best recent one I can really think of is that of Kuemper back in 2021. Pending UFA, easily a top 10 goalie at the time. 1st + 3rd + B level prospect.
Then there's Ryan Miller from the 2014 TDL. Pending UFA playing at the height of his powers going from Buffalo to the Blues. 1st + 3rd + Halak (lesser starter mainly for salary purposes) + B level prospect.
Going by these two comps, a futures laden Hellebuyck to the Devils deal should probably look something like 1st + 3rd + Vanecek + Graeme Clarke (or Nolan Foote)...
At this point in time I'd probably rank Hellebuyck as the 8th best goalie in the NHL behind:
1. Saros
2. Shesterkin
3. Sorokin
4. Vasilievsky
5.Gustavsson
6. Oettinger
7. Ullmark</div></div>
8th that’s ridiculous, there’s only 3 on that list I may choose over him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NJDevils1317</b></div><div>You have to consider things like age and value of contract (long term an 8year deal for a 31yr old goalie is BAAAAAAD idea).
Hellebuyck has a lot of miles and has played more good hockey than what he has left.</div></div>
So you’re taking goalies that have had 10 minute healthy flashes of being good over him, theres a list there that is rather mediocre at ranking goalies. Age/contract whatever you want to add it, still a terrible list.

A top 10 dman in the league is never a bad fit especially with what he can do in transition, but it yeah it would be a marketing gimmick and not worth the price when they already have young guys that have such massive potential.

And too much looking at tiny playoff samples. If one buys that Vanecek will stink based on 2023 playoffs….then one must also believe Schmid will be elite.

done eh
in the last 3 years, Gibson has only saved more goals above expected than Vanacek (per evolving hockey's model) in 1 season ( two years ago). they had identical dFS% two years ago. Vanacek's numbers were miles better this season.
Gibson costs 2.25M more for the next 2 years and then 5.4M more for the following 2, all while being 2 years older.
I personally doubt the Devils would do this at this price point and with that level of retention unless their models paint a significantly rosier picture of Gibson than public models have for the last 5 years (the devils are a huge analytics team)
