Kovacevic is not waivers exempt tho, I really love Xhekaj too, but seems like the logical thing to do.

Thanks, I had forgotten about Hague, I was sure they had signed all their RFA's.

Offseason
I didn't put Faksa in the trade because he could bounce back with better wingers. Still has a FO% at like 54%. Where as Khudobin is pretty much not an NHL goaltender anymore.
Also, since MTL is rebuilding, I don't see them wanting a guy with 3 years left.
But, if to make the trade it has to be Faksa, well MTL probably does it.

the definite consensus between habs fans
My opening night lineup:
Drouin - Suzuki - Caufield
Hoffman - Dvorak - Gallagher
Toffoli - Evans/Poehling - Anderson (based on training camp, I would put the one with the most offensive upside)
Lehknonen - Evans/Poehling - Armia
Paquette (if one of Evans/Poehling has a poor camp, I would put Paquette on the 4th)
Perreault
Edmundson - Petry
Romanov - Savard
Chiarot - Wideman (if Wideman is disappointing, Kulak - Chiarot)

Offersheet not matched
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>Not enough. Looking for 4 1sts and there’s that much value going to them.</div></div>
Well, honestly I think they should take that and run (Eichel is becoming harder and harder to trade by the minute) but if you insist, take the 2nd in 2023 and make it a 1st.
Drouin is a top 6 winger and was a 3rd overall pick; that makes your 4 1st.

Offersheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>This actually works out Awesome
Sure we lose 2 years in the age gap
But we get back a Top 10 Faceoff Center Yearly
Who plays at KK level who is an ideal 2nd line Center
This takes the pressure off Evans allowing his line to do more then back check
I mean Splitting up Suzuki-Caufield is horrible and Norlinder isnt anywhere near ready
But outside those blunders this could be a far better team without KK then with
I like KK but he signed a 6mx1 year deal so F him
If it was for Term i could atleast understand it
But F'ing over your Teammates for a 1 year deal
Thats the type of behavior he can take with him same as Subban(sat out to start a season to get overpaid which has killed his career)</div></div>
Man, I messed up my lines. Let me correct that.
And as for KK, anywhere he plays, he's teammates are not gonna love him. His agent should have advised him to not sign that bad contract.
Unless he has a godly year, no team is going to want to sign that QO next year..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabresforlife</b></div><div>Buffalo declines</div></div>
I know it's technically not enough, but do they really have the upper hand? Eichel may not even start the season.
It's a decent return for a guy that wants nothing to do with that team.
Look a what they got for Reinhart.

That cap hit and term is not a TDL type deal, it's an offseason type deal. He has a full NMC that kicks in next year.

I love the idea of Krejci, and I love your lines. I would put Toffoli on the first tho, for more defensive liability and Hoffman with Krejci who has more experience.

I'd like to dream a little, but if not Coleman, might resign Armia for a little less (3x3)

Staal has 62 playoff games and 51 points with a stanley cup.
Evans has 6 playoff games and 1 point.
I love the way Evans is playing, but that spot is Staal's to lose.

He's insurance, Kulak and Vatanen are 6th defensemen. Depending on the game, you can play both.
And if he's available before Chiarot comes back, he sure plays 6th or even 5th spot

Scheifele?
Maybe even Perron with the way he’s been playing.</div></div>
I was going for a more balanced lineup, but there could be an argument for Theodore over Giordano. As for Barzal, imagine the speed of that line, Barzal was actually faster than McDavid at the last all star combine.
Scheifele is a great offensive player, but I wanted more responsible players on the bottom 9.

Struggling with Danault
I think it would be wise to wait further down in the season before you try and sign him. Show him how being a 3rd C on a winning team has its benefits and sign him to something like Pageau's contract or lower (Pageau has more scoring and is a beast come playoffs).

Not hall ideas

Johnsson had 8 goals in 43 games (he was hurt last year) and Lehkonen (who is a player I really like) had 13 in 70 games. I just think it is a little offensive upgrade on Lehki's production and would be pretty cheap to get. You could always offer him up to Seattle if you're unhappy with his production (and get to keep Lehki and Armia)
