That really isn’t true though. Aho already signed, Tervainen is probably gone after this year unless he has a big bounce back, and they have Skjei/Pesce’s replacements waiting in the wings. Just need to sign Necas and Jarvis.

There’s zero reason to have this many D men when you can’t score in the playoffs year after year. Take away Pesce or Skjei and it’s still one of the league’s best.

I like Necas but cmon, he isn’t in the same galaxy as Nylander scoring wise. Someone significant is moving on defense, likely either Skjei or Pesce, wether you like it or not.

The canes went 6-0 with Slavin out in January last season, in fact in the first game on the first pair with burns Chatfield was +4 with an assist while Pesce got waked for a couple goals

That is exactly why they cannot trade Pesce. That RD is AWFUL. 39 year old Burns who could regress at any moment. DeAngelo whose a powerplay specialist, and Chatfield whose a 7th d/minor leaguer... no.</div></div>

Bruh did you watch a single game last year? Pesce wasn’t even that good, especially in the playoffs, and Chatfield is most certainly not a minor leaguer. The canes and Pesce aren’t close on an extension. They’d be smart to get assets for him now.
