Buncha trades - nothing too serious
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dache07</b></div><div>What would Vancouver want from edmonton for virtanen? Think he would fit nicely in our top 6</div></div>
Tough to trade Virtanen in the division. Imo would have to be an overpay from Edmonton. Likely not worth it for them

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks1</b></div><div>Canucks end up worse. Tanev should be resigned, Pearson shouldn’t be dealt and I wouldn’t do the Virtanen deal.</div></div>
I think Bjork has a far better two way game than Virtanen and he’s on a good cap hit for 3 more years. Imo it worth the deal.
Would love to keep Tanev but couldn’t figure out the Cap so I made the Mayfield trade instead.
Made the Pearson trade to get the pick to make the Mayfield trade, but in hindsight probably could’ve just traded stecher for picks, flipped theM for mayfield, then just not do the toronto trade.
Again though, just having fun. Nothing too serious. Certainly don think all these moves should be done this offseason

Stecher won’t fetch a 2nd.
Better off to bury Sven than that deal & hope he wants a termination. Cap space you have is there.
Hamonic is on the downhill slide. Better options & shorter term are out there.

Not Dunn yet
The best way to get Dunn is to offersheet him. The Blues are in a cap crunch.
Give him 4.2Mx2 with a 5.6M QO. If the Blues match they have to buy out Steen to sign Pietrangelo.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NixJets</b></div><div>Dunn starts with a 1st round pick + plus a good prospect. And if this for some reason happened, you’re about 4-5 mill off on Dunn’s contract</div></div>
So you're saying Dunn gets 6-7M on a 2 year deal? I think he gets more like 3.5M...

One his team is depleted of alot of the players he had last year and two why does Columbus need a defenseman, they need forwards.</div></div>
gotta chime in here, lol. Sutter is a forward... not a defense man (unless it was edited). is the trade fair? no.... given anderson is younger and has more upside i think VAN would have to add... i think Baertschi might be a good fit for Columbus looking for top 6 talent.
and Ottawa is paying next to nothing for those 2 guys on LTIR insurance covers it, given their reputation, no way they give that up for an over paid player like eriksson.

You are right there. One more thing while I do think Zadina will be a very good goal scorer in the future passing on Hughes for Zadina wasn't very smart.

Mantha
As a Detroit fan I can say Mantha is untouchable especially if they move AA. Mantha, Larkin, Bertuzzi and Hronek are untouchable, AA's slow start has moved him off that list but I wouldn't except even AA to get moved until the TDL. For arguments sake take out Baertschi Detroit has enough underperforming vets. Juolevi, Demko, a 1st throw in a RW prospect like Lockwood it might do it The value is tilted toward Detroit but I don't think Mantha gets moved for less. Like Canucks1 said he is a top line forward but a few games in to the season Detroit was forced to juggle lines because the first line was the only that was scoring. Everyone knew Detroit was going to be really bad this season it is part of the process and Yzerman isn't going to overreact and sell his most promising players below their value.

Maybe add a 1st and its enough. The good return is Demko, Juolevi Gaudette are ok, but they dont really need another Center.

Swap of bubble player prospects
Goldobin is just turning into a player capable of playing a 2 way game after 3 years Pro.
he's trending in the right Direction at the same time VAN is so i see no reason to move him out now .
Tolvanen unlike Goldobin is playing with a higher level of expectations but is having issues adjusting to the much faster Small Ice Surface. He will in time like Goldobin adjust but it will take another 1-2 years of steady progress . VAN is better off right now with their player as NSH is better off with their's based on where their teams are.
Virtanen on the other hand hasnt progressed but declined since his rookie season as an overall 2 way player earning his ice time as a Physical net front presence becoming a steady 10-15 goal scorer. You could still do something with Virtanen but why bother when you can move him out to a playoff team looking for depth goal scorers like Virtanen for their 3rd line and VAN could re-coop a 1st in the deal

Good Idea. I think it works for both sides. I would try and soften that draft pick considering the salary retention and how bad of a season Grabner had last year. Eriksson at 4M (and 1 extra year) might be an upgrade from Grabner.

Addressing the rumours
Take away Gardiner, sign Edler for 2x6M instead.
Don't sign Eberle, he will get a bigger contract than the one offered in this.
Trouba deal would require closer to 7M per IMO, and Winnipeg is probably in a position right now where they are looking for "win now" players. At the very least, we'd probably need to take on Kulikov contract too (which would be fine)
There are two deals that include Hutton as well.
Overall, I like the Panarin signing, but he is probably looking for a 7 year deal wherever he goes.
Loui Eriksson deal would require at least a mid-range prospect like Will Lockwood sent over as well, IMO.

Yeah no thanks</div></div>
Point taken, I changed it and thrown in players who aren't signing with either team.
Although, I would not call Cave or Marino junk prospects. Cave played 20 or more NHL games with 2 NHL teams last year. He is no longer a prospect, really.
Marino is actually a decent RHD prospect, but played behind Adam Fox, who will be a star with the Rangers. Marino has been compared to Jeff Petry in Oilers circles. His coach counts on him in important defensive situations, so he will never put up big stats at Harvard.
I hope he signs with the Oilers next year.
