Intriguing idea if the Canucks believe Kotkaniemi can be an effective 3C. I think he'd fit our system well and although I'm not sold on his overall ceiling, getting a player signed through his 20s could be better than signing a UFA for that spot.

I believe that Boeser will take a long term deal at low cap hit to stay in VAN similar to RNH. Something like 8 years at 6M-7M, which would be a bargain deal and below market value. Independent of that I don't like sending out that many assets for a non-impact player at a non-premium position.
One of the characteristics of Rutherford teams is the defense is pretty inexpensive and doesn't require super high end players all over to be effective. We got our stud #1 and they are content to fill holes around that with different types of players like Zadorov and Soucy. Hronek might push it but I don't think they'd be looking at burning assets on another defenseman, more likely a forward. Simply re-signing Zadorov would be a much better move for the organization in my eyes.
I think this team is very solid though.

I think Batherson - Boeser is a downgrade. That makes the rest way too much for 1 year of Chychrun.

I think Mikheyev would be a good fit for you guys and could play with either one of McDrai, but his value is in a weird spot because his knee injury has hampered his entire tenure with the Canucks,

I don't understand why Hagel's cap hit had to be that high on a max term extension. At the time of signing he didn't have an extensive NHL resume and his production didn't warrant that cap hit. I understand the value of locking him up in his prime years, I just think they could have gotten him at like 5M instead.

Everyone will always over value their own players on here so it's pretty impossible to get realistic trades. Like I would want Lekkerimaki + Willander for Brady + JBD but Sens fans will say its not enough and Canucks fans will say its way to much.</div></div>
When's the last time two A prospects were packaged together? I understand that would be your ask but you have to understand that its not happening.
As good as Brady is he's a winger, teams pay premiums for C's and RHDs. Brady is a top tier player and a unicorn style wise but his cap hit isn't small either. Hronek is a top tier asset being a RHD, balances the cap and fills an organizational need for you. I'm not sure there's going to be a much better single asset out there. Throw in an A prospect a 1st and the deal is already overflowing with value you. I'd be surprised if two of them were included in a deal let alone three.

I agree that Graves could be good for us but I don't see any reason to take on the risk the term on his deal. We don't need LHD and if we did we could find other ones. I'd rather keep Zadorov.
Kotkaniemi is interesting and has some upside but again the risk is in the term of his deal. Being buyout friendly is a bonus though. For that price I wouldn't mind but I'd like some assurance that he'll be put in a good spot with good linemates to succeed. Your suggestion of putting him with Joshua and Garland could work as they can energize anyone it seems. It would be worth letting Pettersson know about it as well.

Top NHL Prospects-- give me your thoughts
Incredible job with the list. I haven't kept up with prospects around the league like I used to when VAN was in the gutter but it's a nice surprise to see Lekkerimaki in the top-5.
If the Flyers somehow mess up Michkov its a crime against hockey.

Off-season
I know Toffoli fits on paper as a top-6 winger, but I'm not convinced he's what this team needs. We don't have enough speed to offset Toffoli's lack of speed in our fast paced forechecking offence, Boeser already takes up that spot. I understand we could use another piece in the top-6 but I don't think there are any good options for the summer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Julius_Freezer</b></div><div>we need a strong left shot to fill Bo's vacant spot on the PP, he hasn't worked in LA bcuz their tactics don't match his play style, moving him to the wing in VAN can help him reach his full potential and at only $7M he could be a bargain</div></div>
Dubois sticks out across the entire NHL for his abysmal engagement level. Tocchet would play him less than Kuzmenko.
Our PP is missing Kuzmenko now. He's a creative, skilled player that knows how to be dangerous from anywhere on the ice. He could read off of Miller and Pettersson very well and created a lot of room for them up top even without touching the puck. The bottom line is Tocchet would not have played him in the Playoffs, but we are now missing his offensive skillset.

Fact is Kuzmenko was not going to the see the ice in the Playoffs under Tocchet. Functionally, he was a 5.5M scratch player. Lindholm being on the PK and 3rd line would be more helpful than that.
Kuzmenko did bring a great complimentary skillset on offence that is being missed right now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SmoothMcCrimmonal</b></div><div>Will be interesting to see what Cassidy does. I'd like to think the top 6 guys and the 4th line will all be in the lineup assuming they're all healthy no matter what. The only question mark to me is who will be Karlsson's wingers and all of Mantha, Amadio, Howden, and Dorofeyev (Dorofeyev least likely) will be considered and could be deployed pending their form and the matchup.
Although his usage in the playoffs might not be that high Dorofeyev has a great chance to be a quality middle 6 contributor for a long time and I'm really hopeful that GM's lack of offer sheeting will continue because cap should be tight and if someone did want to they could really handcuff the Knights on Doro</div></div>
It's the case every year that some teams are very vulnerable to offersheets but nothing every happens. I think offersheeting K'Andre Miller when he was up was a prime opportunity to land a really good young defenseman for less than his true value but nobody did it.
