How would you rank these 3 trades for Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>You'd have to tell that to that Jets fan who made the ACGM
Yes, and more. He is getting a suspension, he's not banned from the NHL lol
Anyway, Ottawa clearly don't want to trade him
lol "insecurity" like if this changes anything in the infinite universe with all the stuff people post everyday on social media. Talk about a drama queen Nancy :help
It was not mean to be "deep" or what the **** that meant but you accused me of "<em>overrating my own players</em>" so I simply gave you a real life tangible example that I know exactly what I am doing.
I don't understand why some people like you, who are so out of their element, want to continue to argue with me... Pinto has played 127 games, Robertson has played 82 games, 45 games difference (minus a few games until October 25th if you want)... Damn, I would not be very happy if my kids were not able to do these simple maths in elementary school. And even more importantly, Pinto has been 1 season, Robertson has been injured every season.
Are you for real? I literally just told you that he played in April... which is NOT "<em>over a year</em>"... And no, he is NOT "<em>going to miss THIS entire year</em>"... again another very easily verifiable fact. Are you drunk lol
Ok based on the exchanges so far I don't think I have anything to prove to you but you know the guy who broke the whole Dadonov/Dorion situation? Well, I have been part of the Sens community for decades and we have insiders like that. You don't have to believe it, doesn't change anything. I know it has been discussed well enough (on another forum). Also the pick was not 12th OA at the time of the trade (March, I even told you lol), just another one of you logical fallacies. I mean, you just can't stop :laugh
lol I don't need do anything to make feel better, just being me is quite satisfying in general. Greig was another instance of when I correctly projected a young player (the subject...), but it doesn't matter, I didn't realize you were so lost and out of your element.
What else could it be to finish than just another.... logical fallacy?!? You are hilarious kid
These laughable proposals were made by NON-Sens fans...but that point will most likely go over your head as well
And for the highlighted... I have no words :tearsofjoy</div></div>

Has Dubas set them back or just a declining roster
I think there are a lot of things. The first is the coaching hasn't been great. The Powerplay is bad and they should change it up, but I doubt Rierden will do that. Second I think that Jarry has been bad as of late. He can probably pull it together later, but right now I think they should split games between him and hellberg until he proves he has won the job. If things don't start to get better, they will probably fire sully. He is a good coach, but I wouldn't be surprised if his message has gone stale

They refuse to believe it’s not 2017 anymore. Sullivan only knows one way to coach and they know one way to play. They want to out skate and out score everyone every night and they haven’t been able to do it. Dubas got a lot of things right but his biggest mistake was paying Jarry. Having said that it’s clear Sullivan and the staff wanted him back so that’s also more to blame on him.
Our failures belong to the following people in this order:
1 Mike Sullivan
2 Hextall and Burke (yes many of you will put them at one but Sully never even tried to make coaching adjustments even with their bad rosters)
3 The stars of this team who refuse to change. Yes most of them are still very good to elite but they should be willing to buy into a more cautious brand of hockey without the aggressive forechecking game Sully uses.
4 The new owners for refusing to start a rebuild. You can start the rebuild and still have stars.

I don't prescribe to conspiracy theories. Absolutely awful thing that happened. Everyone deserved to lose their jobs, if not jail time! I was (and am still) in favor of making the Wirtz family sell the team just like the Clippers (NBA) and Commanders (NFL) did. The NHL obviously hasn't done that, but should. That situation has nothing to do with hockey and there will be no amount of draft picks to justify what happened.

You really didn't have anything in terms of prospect capital or sellable pieces (besides guentzel bc there's no way the team is trading crosby or malkin), and so going for it as much as possible was really the only option

Has Dubas set them back or just a declining roster
The way I look at it is they're 6th in the league in xGF% - so I have a hard time blaming the GM for any roster construction issues. It's not like they're getting dominated night in night out. They're "outplaying" the opposing team almost every game - by that I mean outshooting, out chancing, and out expecting the opposition.
They're just struggling to finish chances - which has been an issue for years before Dubas, so can't blame him there. And aren't getting timely saves when they have defensive lapses. So overall, no, I don't think we can say Dubas has set them back. He was a bit handcuffed coming in - limited cap space, lots of guys on NMCs, limited assets to trade. The only signing he made that has shown to be not too great so far imo is Graves. People will point to Jarry, and he hasn't been great, but goalie options were incredibly limited.

Maybe a little of both. Karlsson was such a boom or bust trade and so far it's hasn't had the effect that they wanted. It shouldn't really be a surprise his strengths hardly out weight his weaknesses.

Wouldn't say he set them back. Yes, he did go after older players but those players are still effectful. GMRH targeted declining older players (Rutta, Granlund, Petry, Bonino, etc) that really did not do much. Dubas is a GM that actual likes to talk and talk about his plan and he has, so far, been very accurate on his past words. The team still needs help w/ their Bottom D pair and 4th line (but we all know why they are failing miserably.. *cough* 77 & 2) but it is nice seeing Shea, Zohorna playing a big part in this team so far. It just sucks how we don't play more of these types of players (younger guys that actually give a **** and play their hearts out) compared to a Carter or Ruhwedel.
(I'm currently praying for Hinostroza to slide into 4RW for Carter).

BOTH
Old team especially in all the key areas, lack of prospects, youth throughout system existed before Dubas, and they missed playoffs.
Most moves were for older guys, added to the existing old guys and a ton of league minimum old guys to paper over the fact that the prospects are bad.
Problem existed before dubas and I dont think he had much choice but to double down, his first acts as GM couldn;t be to trade letang, crosby, malkin, etc....

Colorado has added pretty good depth upfront this year and with lindholm probily looking for ~8mil next season colorado can't afford that with the new toews deal and maybe lady coming back onto the books. The Wings will be better this year but I think the competition in the east is too tight for Detroit to make playoffs this season. Yzerman filled all the holes in the roster with UFAs and has said he like to see the prospects have success as a group in the AHL before bringing them up. Edvinsson might be the only prospect to come up and stay up this season but I think they take it really slow bringing him back after what they went though with Vrana.

Tampa Bay - This could either Boston or Buffalo. I went with TB because currently Vegas (sport books not the team) has them just ahead of Boston in Stanley Cup odds.

Boston

Buffalo
Both teams missed the playoffs but they have made moves that says they aren't giving up yet and with players like Crosby and Ovie you can't count them out yet.
Pittsburgh
Washington
Ottawa - They could finish ahead or behind Pittsburgh and Washington. They are definitely a head of the teams below. But like Detroit the competition in the East is just too good.

I love Detroit. As a Michigan boy, that part is kinda obvious.
As for the Sabres; my dad was born and raised near Buffalo. My uncle was a season ticket holder until 18-19. It's definitely not a 1A/1B, but more of a 1A/2B.
Indeed. Wish we picked him, but can't be angry at Danielson pick. Although I am scarred from our horrendous history drafting in the CHL, Danielson is truly a diamond in the rough in a literal sense. That Wheat Kings team is hot garbage. Watched a few of his highlights, and some of his assists were basically just him bouncing the puck off his teammate's body.

I wouldn't make the trade if I were Yzerman unless I intended to flip Nylander, but in terms of value, he would be crushing Treliving in this deal. Or put it this way, if this deal was made today and both GMs went to move the pieces on July 19, 2024, Yzerman would still be able to get more back. Raymond is a complete projection at this point. His scoring efficiency declined greatly this season. That's a troubling sign compared to how Nylander was at the same age. Obviously he should have plenty of improvement left, but I wouldn't be willing to gamble on that if I were Treliving.

Regardless, trading Raymond for him is dumb. Not because Raymond is better, but because he is cheaper, younger and has a high ceiling. That's what the wings want.</div></div>
I hope Raymond turns into Nylander.
Younger and cheaper, absolutely. That doesn't necessarily mean better, in the long run. Nylander is a guarantee.

The hope is we compete for the next 4 years while continuing to slot prospects1 or 2 at a time into the lineup.
But this offseason was absolutely not to be Stanley cup competitive. Just wild card competitive</div></div>
I didn't meant competitive like a cup contender, obviously the idea is to get back to the playoffs soon.

I think you misinterpret this offseasons moves then. The idea was to get better as to start building a winning culture, but I don't think it's to be competitive. I think the Wings timeline starts in 2-3 years. The majority of the players we have now will be gone by then. The rest will likely just be in support rolls to insulate the younger players. We are better compared to last year, I hope anyways, but I don't see playoffs for this team and as I stated earlier and the trade, probably doesn't happen.
