<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MindControlManager</b></div><div>1) If you're saying he's a third line winger, then I disagree. He is a top 6 winger imo, with a ceiling that could reach the 1st line on a team. Probably not Toronto, mind you, but somewhere a few years from now. If you're saying that because he spent time on the third line, then that's not abnormal considering Toronto's top 6 and the fact that that was his rookie season. And speaking of being a rookie, he may not be a prospect, but he definitely has rising potential. How many players have ended up peaking between 26-28?

2) So you're saying they would be completely opposed to making a 1 one 1 trade that makes them younger, faster (while maintaining a lot of skill) and while saving on the cap?

3) Matthews isn't a playmaking center. And for his rookie season, 43 points is not bad at all. I maintain the opinion that 50-70 points is a realistic ceiling for him. 50-60 most likely.

I would like to finish this post with a couple more things. 1) I'm not saying that Dallas would do this trade. But if it was offered to them, I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't at least consider it, whether seriously or not. 2) I'd like to point out that is isn't a suggested roster, nor is it a prediction. Just another entry in the 1 for 1 challenge that some have been doing around here. The idea is that the trades should be plausible, and in my opinion, I do feel that the value is there.</div></div>

He's a middle-6 winger. LW is the weakest forward position of TOR forwards, hence he plays the 2nd line. He might be fast, but he's nothing too special. Even Janmark from Dallas could get a 40+ point season if he plays with Matthews regularly. And to be fair, there's not a high speed difference between Radulov and Johnsson, it's not like Radulov's slow by any means. Not to mention that he scores 30 points more per season.

DAL is definitely not going to even consider that trade. Radulov is far superior player of the two.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>Racist? You're trying to find too much here. I agree with Derek. Is Patrick Kane racist? Brent Burns? People are over the loss of Schmidt, not sure what you're complaining about. Caps fans know that giving Bowey and Djoos opportunities is a good route to take.</div></div>

In science, empricism is governed by a concept called Occam's razor. You could guess that all of these guys chose that non-traditional hockey number because they're fans of Lindros, who chose it as a tribute to Wayne Gretzky's retired number, 99, which was itself a close-but-not-too-close tribute to Gordie Howe... and to evaluate that you just have to look at which of those guys, like Lindros, base their game on being the biggest, toughest, meanest guy out there, running everybody over, taking big slap shots, and crashing the net until the goalie can't stop pucks anymore. But it's none of them.

So I never liked Schmidt. I thought his minutes were too numerous if he had one. I respect his abilities. He was able to figure out that, as long as opponents double covered Ovechkin instead of putting somebody on him, he could hold the puck and skate through the neutral zone, and look almost like a dime-store knock-off of Joe Juneau. And for a second I'd be pretty happy about it, until the camera showed his back. Now that there was an armed Nazi invasion in Virginia this week, I'm pretty glad he's gone. Good riddance. Djoos, Siegenthaler, and Johansson will each do better.</div></div>

This is ridiculous
