In order for this to occur, the yotes would have to win the lottery TWICE in a row, which you can’t do anymore (NHL teams are not allowed to win a draft lottery more than once in a 5 year span now). While they will most likely get one, they won’t get both, unless somehow Florida manages to win the lottery in 2023, and that chance is so minuscule, it may as well not even exist. But yes, this would be an amazing team, and if they somehow got both Wright and Bedard at the helm, they might be able to rival the dynamic duo of McDavid and Draisaitl.</div></div>
Oh I thought a team can win the lottery twice in five years under the new rules, my bad. Well, getting one of them and another top 5 pick would help too.
Gaudreau is, at best, a 4th liner. This team looks worse than last year, I would indeed be surprised if they reached the playoffs. The situation is a bit messed up; they have some really good young guys in Addison, Boldy and Rossi, but they may not be ready to contribute just yet. And while they could be stars in a few years, their current stars could be gone by then. Hopefully the Wild will solve this, it would be fun to see Kaprizov, Rossi, Boldy, Fiala and JEE playing together in the top 6.
