Fair. It's so tough to predict who will be a playoff team these days. Seems like every season now there's three or four new playoff teams every year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kster34</b></div><div>Why would you say the “if the leafs miss the playoffs”? We finished 1 point behind you in a tougher division. Are the canes going to miss the playoffs - come on, that just makes no sense.
Leaf problems are not due to D; they ‘ve lost some really close series (& had their share of bad luck, which happens) to teams that ended up going to the finals. And they played Tampa much tougher than the team that beat you out.
We have yet to find a goalie (incl Freddy) that can make the big save, or yet to find a 3rd liner that can pop in a big goal. Hopefully this year 🤞 but no major overhaul needdd.
Leafs don’t need to trade anyone on d unless it’s for cap reasons, which this isn’t.</div></div>
Okay, if you think honestly the Atlantic is EVER a tougher division than the Metro, get your head checked. Last time I checked, this is STILL the toughest in the sport and it will be again this year. It has been the toughest division in hockey since the realignment. Get outta here saying the Atlantic is tougher :tearsofjoy
Read what I said after I said if the Leafs miss the playoffs. Don't cherry pick. Anything can be wraped out of context.
Yes, Boston and Tampa were scarily close in the standings so to say "Tampa is a much tougher team than Boston" is just not true. Oh and Carolina beat the Bruins with a BACKUP and THIRD STRING goalie. Yes, Kochetkov went 1-1 in that Bruins series on 1 start.
Toronto needs another top 4 D I feel, but I get the feeling this is something Leafs fans view the same way Canes fans view the 2C question. There's guys in house that have proven that they deserve that chance and you let them fight it out to see which one gets it. If neither can fill that hole, then you look to external issues. I get that. But at the end of the day, until there is a solution, it is fair to say that maybe external help is the best course of action.

Yes, and the user still missing players like Jeff Carter, Max Domi, and players selected with draft picks Columbus traded like Jarry, Dermott, and Couturier.

Canes said F the Russian factor
They were bad, cheap, old school and probably avoided the trouble of getting comrades over here. Smartened up at some point. If I recall correctly, the last few drafts CAR kept trading down, doubling their picks, very nice! I just remade every team til 25, crazy how some teams have tons of prospects, some very few. Some teams tons/few Russians, Ds, Fs,...

He has not underperformed in the slightest, points arent everything, especially with prospects.
I never said anything about draft position meaning anything value wise, the day that a prospect plays his first game post-draft is the last day his draft position matters
Take a look at McTavish's playoff+Mem cup runs, that is a difference maker that doesnt have a comparable in the 2021 draft</div></div>
McTavish must have been following this thread, and is clearly unhappy that <a href="/users/cardiac" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@cardiac</a> doesn't like him :tearsofjoy

No. Morrow is not available. End of sentence.
I'd rather take the risk of a 22 year old growing at 2C than sign Miller to that ANCHOR of a deal.
Hoglander is a nice piece, but not at that price.
Canes are not trading Necas. He doesn't need a change of scenery, he needs a change of position. As you've done here, he'll play C this year.

RONI HIRVONEN A LEAFS PLAYER NAME TO REMEMBER
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cardiac</b></div><div>Thank you for that. I do rip on you for the hot takes a bit but you also do seem to be highly interested in prospects as well. Anyways if you an an honest assessment of hirvonen, I would say he has very solid upside and has been a great player for the Finnish teams over the past few years. Undersized for sure but he doesn’t play undersized. I think he fell in the 2020 draft largely due to his size but he has filled out pretty well since. He has shown a constant rate progression which is something you definitely want to see in your prospects. Seeing a lot of Finnish play over the last few years as I believe the LIIGA has the potential to overtake the SHL in terms of prestige and prospect development over the next few years. Anyways if hirvonen were a few inches taller, he would have be a no brainer first rounder imo. His LIIGA progression has been great and if I am correct he will be in the AHL next year where he could adjust to the North American game as I see that being the next big step in his development. If he is able to make a jump in his play this coming year like Jonatan Berggren did his D+3 year, he could be a high end prospect very soon. Berggren tore up the SHL his third year after being mediocre but showing flashes his D+2 year. Hirvonen has largely been the same but he has been much better internationally which could be a product of playing with first round talents like raty (I know he was taken 52nd but he was a projected first overall pick heading into his draft year) and kemell. Finland’s juniors have also been on the upwards trend in prospect production. This is the make or break year for hirvonen where he will be playing in an elevated role wherever he is, Finland or the the AHL, but either way I think if he performs, he will be viewed much higher by the community than he is now. Top 6 potential but a floor of being a great full time LIIGA player.</div></div>
I have a friend who is diehard Canucks fan and a prospect follower and former writer who use to actually produce a written prospect profile with a page for each of his top 80 draft choices before each NHL draft........He wakes up early here on the Westcoast to watch prospects play in Europe.
I would not be surprised if you told me you were also writing and publishing prospect reports as well......because you have the passion and knowledge.

He doesn't understand how LTIR works. I'm not saying that in a rude way. He just doesn't know what it really means.
