what about Toews or Pelech from NYI
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>I agree with your Leddy assessment. Thumbs up!
However, the ask of Domi + Suzuki + a pick is absolutely bonkers lol Domi had more points than Barzal this past season! Suzuki is a top tier prospect!. We are talking about the same Toews...right? :squinty</div></div>
I'm not sure that was my ask (more a reflection on marginal value), but toews is looked at as top pair d. Top pair d making $700k are extremely rare. You'd need to pay severely for him.

what about Toews or Pelech from NYI
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Very informative. Thanks! So from what I gather Toews is basically a no go (fair enough). Pelech could be had at the right price, but his price is inflated for what he brings due to a great contract. Am I off?
As I said this is just hypothetically speaking. If they were a scenario that Lou just isn't getting the offers he's hoping for for Leddy (you NYI fans can't always be spoiled with Hamonic type deals lol), and he decides to keep him. You all seem pretty convinced he's gone though...</div></div>
Hi blazingbat, I think your order is right. It's about marginal value, and getting a top 4 d for $700k, $1.6m, $2m provides great marginal value (value over what it would cost to sign a similar player). Now, jury is out on Mayfield as top 4, but hes at least an elite 5/6 on a great contract. That's why isles fans are asking for kapanen for Mayfield, on talent alone its lopsided but factor in contracts and it's much more even.
The discussion on toews or pulock realistically starts with someone like domi plus Suzuki and a pick. (I think kotkaniemi is too much, but not out of the question). Or, take on salary (ladd, boychuk, komarov, clutterbuck) and keep domi. Something like that.
As for leddy, I would say he is pretty adequately paid for a 3/4 lhd (so little marginal value), has term, and still can skate. I'd say high end is a mid 1st or b+ prospect, floor would be high 2nd. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle (2 2nds?). That's probably the reason for all the proposed leddy trades, it just seems most realistic.

And a negative 73% chance he goes for a cap dump, ok prospect and late 1st in 2 years.

Not sure what the pulock for trouba trade gets you. Seems to be a marginal upgrade, and you're paying trouba more even after pulock's extension.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>thanks for the feedback bud. Habs really dont have any left shot D to spare. Maybe Jake Evans? idk if he'll contribute next year, but he can be a solid 3rd liner</div></div>
Believe it or not isles are pretty good on left side too with pelech, toews, the other sebastian aho, hickey as 7th and Witherspoon/ vandesompel in minors. They really need top 6 wingers, which is why you see the leddy for danault and leddy for tatar trades posted here. I do think though that I'd take your trade, package juulsen (or even pulock) for that top 6 forward.

Hi price, I think this is tilted slightly towards the islanders, although it doesn't really solve any needs. Isles are actually fairly set at RD with Dobson and wilde coming, and the last thing this team needs is more bottom 6 forwards. That 2nd looks nice though, and I'd probably say yes to the trade because the value is there, then look elsewhere to get top 6 wingers.
