He has the highest NHL Equivalency of any first year draft eligible defender the last 20 years since Ryan Ellis who also happens to be on the team. You might be right, he does need a year in the AHL but he could also impress in camp.

The news has progressed as follows:
1. Tuukka and the bruins have agreed to terms.
2. Haven’t submitted contract to the league because they’re figuring out the best way to do it (cap purposes, taxi squad purposes etc)
3. Announce schedule for Tuukka getting games in providence.
4. Signs PTO in providence.
Are you trolling? No one can be this thick.</div></div>
You're changing your tune, you said he agreed to an NHL contract not an AHL PTO. You not once mentioned an AHL PTO before today.

It’s refuted by every other report, and it also doesn’t really prove you right or anything. Everyone’s reporting that the two sides have agreed to terms. Do you understand what that means?
Serious question, do you think there is a higher, or lower than 5% chance that rask returns to boston?
Do you think there is a higher, or lower than .0000001% chance that he signs with a different team?
You’ve been wrong about this every step of the way. There’s no shame in just saying, “ya, i didn’t really know what i was talking about here,” and moving on.</div></div>
I've agreed with you like 5 posts back that Rask will sign with Boston. You keep acting like it's already been a done is deal is the issue. Let me know when the contract is official.

Flute backs this up here. Perhaps you need a better understanding of what pending means in this context. That means that the contract is agreed upon, but has not been submitted to the league.
I know you’ve struggled with this for months now, but its really not hard. You were wrong. Tuukka back to Boston was a foregone conclusion all along. Christ, Cassidy is already talking about which games he’ll be playing.</div></div>

It’s just an obvious answer that only doofus contrarians will reject at this point.</div></div>
It's a PR answer, all he does is further alienate Bruins fans if he says "maybe". It's likely he signs in Boston but when looking towards contention the Oilers have maintained a playoff spot for the entire duration of the season. They can offer a more definitive role. Ullmark is signed long term, the Oilers have no long term plan in net. I can appreciate he is in rehab for his surgery but fact that he remains still not signed lends further to speculation like this.

RASK is up to the task
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>You’re around here enough. You know that he’s flat out said he’ll only play in boston, and prefers retirement to playing anywhere else…and that he’s practicing in bruins gear at the bruins facility, and acting as an EBUG and all that.
It is abundantly clear rask will sign in boston.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Ya. Except he’s addressed all that. Sure, maybe he’s lying, but he’s been pretty adamant about it.
1. He’s actively said that whatever contract he signs will not be about money, and that he’ll come pretty cheap. If money is a sticking point, that would be a weird negotiation tactic.
2. He was asked point blank about ring chasing, and said that he just wouldn’t view that opportunity as something worth leaving boston for. This is why he’s said time and time again that if there’s no opportunity for him in boston, he’ll just retire, and continue living there.
3. The only reason he isn’t playing in Boston right now is because he’s recovering from surgery.
It seems as if playing for a team other than the bruins is legitimately not an option, but what really seems out of the realm of possibility is moving across a border, and across a continent.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>He doesn't care about the money, he's already <a href="https://www.nhl.com/news/tuukka-rask-playing-status/c-326021000" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">said it</a>.
"<em>For me, it's about that pride of playing for one team and one team only. <strong>I have no reason to chase the money anymore and go somewhere els</strong>e. It's going to be one of those things where the Bruins are my home, Boston is my home. I've always wanted to play here, wanted to stay here. So the money won't be an issue. We had a conversation with [Bruins general manager Don Sweeney] and <strong>I will be a cheap goalie for them</strong></em>."
Now, show me where Tavares said that (and even if he did, it's one guy)</div></div>
Swayman has shown he's good enough for the NHL, sending him to the AHL would be a disservice. Ullmark is the man going forward. Edmonton can offer him a starting role which is the only thing they have over Boston in terms of winning him over. It would be the only reason he signed here if ever.
