What do you think about swapping Veleno for Erne but with Veleno in GR?

He could be the leader of the next wave (Soderblom, Beggren, Edvinsson, etc) and is still waver exempt. Then Ras can center that line.

Whatever happens happy with the lineup additions on paper at least!

It also seems to me to make sense to keep Veleno in GR instead of playing 8-9 mins a night on the 4th line, play him in a prominent role and 17-19 mins a night. He’d be in the next wave of young wings with Berggren and Soderblom and D’s Johansson, McIsaac, Viro and Cossa.

For the wings swap in Erne, move Ras to center 4th line and gtg.

The interesting part in all of this is everyone knows he wants out so although it could have been an ask for Raymond Calgary has to take the best they can get it’ll be interesting to see the return Calgary gets as I think it’ll be lower than most believe. If none of this was public then I’d agree with the Raymond scenario.

I feel like this is the price a good roster player, a really good prospect and picks, personally I’d pull the trigger. He’s a big rugged winger you’d have until his early 30s that’s scored 30+ goals twice already (40 once). Your core would be him, Larkin, Bertuzzi, edvinsson, seider and hopefully Cossa. That’d be a legit core.

Against those Teams OTT WAS NJD NYI COL they were about .500. I think Detroit took some major steps. They also lost too many games against MON and CHI, and other bottom dwellers like we were.

I still think we’re right there but short by 10 points or so.

In years past I’ve felt if everything came together It’d be a stretch to make it. This year it seems like if everything comes together they’re in. That being said all of that is on paper and the goals and stats and ratings these new guys put up were because they were on good teams. This is not a good team, yet. It’s a toss up!

Please no! A good 2nd C, some stronger middle 6 that what we have and a strong LHD. Not sure what to do with Hronek but I'd rather drop Walman in next to Seider and then see if Steve can spend money to get a defensive whisperer for Hronek or drop him to the 3rd pair and get a LHD for Seider. Whatever happens, I'd like to see one really strong UFA signing. Been a while since I've been this excited for Free Agency.

The interesting thing about Strom or Copp is Strome has been inflated - first year this year has been good in NY - related to strong LWs. Copp's ceiling has been less than 40 pts per season. Not sure either is an upgrade over Suter. We'll see what happens should be an interesting month ahead.

We'd have to overpay for anyone impactful either in term or money. Maybe a 4 year deal at 7.5? I get the assumption that he may go downhill as he ages, but it seems like he's just hitting his stride and may be okay until his latter mid 30s.

If not Kadri, then who?
