I like Cooch at LW going forward, if we have all these Cs, we need more scoring wingers.

SJ Post Karlsson Trade 2023 Selling as Much as Possible at the Trade Deadline
If I'm the Sharks, I would say yes to every single one of these. I think only a few of them are actually realistic, though. Ferarro, Duclair, Rutta, and MacDonald are the realistic ones. With a bounce back season, I could see Labanc/Kahkonnen getting done too.

Probably takes a bit more, like a 2nd. But I have no idea why SJ would want to clog up their LD logjam even further. Unfortunately both PIT and SJ have too many LDs
to be honest, if it wasn't for the rumors I would have never believed PIT was a frontrunner because they are generally poor trade partners unless Grier is interested in sheer quantity of picks or so-so prospects and I had no idea PIT wanted to get even older

Dude you're Sharks fan. That's so bad for the Sharks.
Does no one realize everyteam has 3 retention slots? With Burns and soon to be Karlsson, that last retention slot needs to be saved only for expiring contracts.
Also he has a 2 mil cap hit. They should be able to fit that.

Why are the Sharks trading away their second best prospect and almost certainly a top 5 pick for 2 guys that will walk in free agency 9 months from now?

No way the Sharks do that trade. Hanifan and Lindholm would most likely be rentals as they don't want to be on the rebuilding team. The Sharks also give up one of their top prospects and a 1st as well? No thanks.

That trade is pretty wild. It's like teams enjoy taking on 6mil in cap space for funsies these days, all essentially for a half eaten samich. I would guess Myers would cost at least a 3rd or 2nd to move, even if his salary would only be 1mil.

He was a non-starter for Meier, you think a 33 year old EK is returning him? Stop it, delusional. Pesce + a 1st is already going to need more retention than that. For roster pieces to be included, San Jose are going to be eating half the EK deal. If they don't like that, send him to Pittsburgh and enjoy eating the Petry deal.</div></div>
Lol. The delusion is thinning that Jarvis is “untouchable” - this site really needs to learn what the word means cause there’s not as many players that are actually untouchable as people seem to think

I hope Zadina can make a good career for himself. The effort is certainly there and he's REALLY improved his defensive game. But I think he's a 3rd liner at best. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>In that case it's an easy Sharks decline.</div></div>
Sharks take Chiarot and buy him out after this year. the cap hit for a Chiarot buyout is only one year more than an EK retention and is:
- 24-25: $1,083,333
- 25-26: $2,083,333
- 26-27: $1,583,333
- 27-28: $1,583,333
As opposed to to the 3.5-5.75 mil most (fans) want Sharks to retain on EK until 26-27. It also keeps two retention slots open for deadline deals, instead of being limited to 1 for the next 2 years

SJ Sign Tarasenko and Trade EK65 to CAR for Pesce Picks to Round Out Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>I get that. I lived through some really lean years with the canes from 2010ish until RBA got hired and it was brutal. I wish we’d have bottomed out at least a few times but they kept generally finishing right around 10th worst and also couldn’t hit on many first rounders. We got lucky to slide into 2nd to land Svech, plus got the right coach and we also got lucky in the mid rounds to land guys like Aho Slavin Pesce to build the core around.
That way took a lot longer though and took a lot of things to finally go right to get out of it. Full rebuild is really painful but generally quicker and then the first couple years coming out of it are at least exciting imo.</div></div>
Sharks have been bad since 19/20, but they lost out on that 3rd OA 2020 1st. That really hurts. But the sharks do have a solid prospect pool finally. Though a top 10 pick in 24 to grab a top tier RD like Levshunov Elick or Mews
would be nice.

Leave Garland alone
Sure, it's reasonable to expect the Sharks to retain $20 million on a guy that just scored over 100 points and won his 3rd Norris Trophy. I'm sure the Sharks GM is chomping at the bit to make that deal.
