That's not true... that's actually quite an intriguing deal and I'd switch the other player going to the canes but this is a pretty good deal... I'm not psyched about giving up Necas but this seems like a pretty fair deal

Santa comes early
Don’t really hit the jets interest, need the rhd dman prospect more than the winger, little more keen for a dman development or a Center to push the other options over the veteran winger.

i dont think calgary is tempted to make that trade at all
konecny would be nice but that price is too rich for me, especially considering how thin we are for centres</div></div>
Yeah and Goodrow has to waive to be moved not sure if it's list or full but it would be tough to move that cap around,
I thought that was an overpay for ol' Tanev tbh
And it is a bit rich to get Konechny but I really like him we need a player like him and Lucius is sooo injury prone and very unlikely to be a Center at the NHL level

The thread title says "something different" yet contains another Hellebuyck to Buffalo proposal that's just as unrealistic as the 100+ others people have proposed since LeBrun's singular mention of Buffalo being "interested".

Still think that’s a “no” from the Sabres
1- i think 5yrs is more than we’d be willing to do
2- don’t think we move Krebs- or any other important roster player
3- why would we want Stanley? Already have a bunch of 3rd pair quality guys
***IF***
Hellebuyck were willing to sign a 3year extension, i think we’d already have traded for him
I also think that he just isn’t willing to sign an extension that short

Probably so but they seem to be facilitating moves for the guys who want to leave. If Karlsson says Vegas, don't think they could complain about the return.

barron will prob get a slight bit more term and money and he’ll play on the wing, namestnikov played C well last season. im wondering if kupari starts with the Moose but eventually takes someone’s spot like AJF
i also want to see a healthy, full year of ehlers on top line and iafallo is better suited to the third line with lowry
D lines, PP 1 look good
idk how much time iafallo got on LA’s PP but lowry has played often on the 2nd unit
id put demelo on PK1 and swap out schmidt for samberg, otherwise also looks good</div></div>
I originally had Iafallo and Nino swapped but then remembered your coach is Rick Bowness so the only chance you have of an elite talent like Ehlers playing more than 16 minutes is if he is with an elite defensive forward, such as Iafallo.

He has arbitration rights and is coming off an excellent 20 + goal season while being the main piece coming back in the PLD trade. He has all the leverage and you will probably have to overpay to get him to stay long-term. You don't want to sign him short-term since you run the risk of the PLD situation happening again which is why y'all went out of your way to trade for contract controlled players.

Bruins need a 1C
Moving Carlo for a C is just shuffling chairs.
Swayman I think is too much value.
I wonder if 1st + Lysell + Frederic moves the needle?
DeBrusk+ on the table as well but would totally be dependent on DeBrusk wanting to re-sign in WPG which makes it hard to talk about.

Bruins need a 1C
I appreciate that you have taken into consideration Boston's reality in your proposed trade. I still tend to agree with the other Boston fans though. I just don't think Boston is a good trade partner. The need for a 1C is there, but just about everything else when it comes to fit is not:
- Expiring contract
- Age vs. timeline for contending
- How the team typically deploys centers in a more defense-focused role vs. how Scheifele typically plays
- Upcoming free agent class strength at center (Scheifele is technically in this group!)
Ultimately, I think the Bruins are better off leaning on being bad for a year or two. It unfortunately won't help them much with their woeful draft situation, but it won't make that draft situation worse and it will help them keep salary freed up.
I would trade Carlo (or any 2RD) for a bonafide 1C if there is a suitable fit out there. I just don't think that Scheifele is that guy.

Totally disagree with that, Carlo would be the RD the Jets have needed since losing Trouba and Byfuglien, never been high on Debrusk either, 2nd line forwards are alot easier to acquire than top 4 RD

Carlo has a 10 team no trade lost so that's probably a no go. Also Carlo is not a player that should be traded for a top 6 center. It's just changing what problem they have from a top 6 c to a top 4 rhd. This makes no sense for Boston. I feel like a 1st and debrusk for scheifele and something would work tho

I'm just not a Helle believer, if he couldn't get on a hot streak in his prime with this recent core which was considered fairly good what makes us think he'll get on a good run when he's older and out of his prime with this next core which likely won't be as good or will at least take some time to develop?
I just don't see it happening, imo its best to move on and let him be some other teams headache.</div></div>
I agree with you. Was simply stating that for an org with 0 history of drafting, developing, signing and retiring stars, it might be with a lot to them.

Brodie isnt a cap dump lul
Since defenseman analytics were being looked at he had the second best numbers seen
Anyways, Addison is an offensive Dman whose been in the Wild's doghouse multiple times and we have 0 need for another offensive Dman. Would rather have stable brodie
