Emphasis on defensemen part 2
The writing is on the wall that Morgan may not be today, but if nothing else in another season or two, not a first liner or at least needs to play with a very good shut down dman. Leafs need to look ahead and prepare for that. McCabe is not a 2nd liner either, he's a solid #5.

Fire Keefe and the Whole Front Office
Sammy is the worst starting goalie in the league, and in fact ranked behind several backup goalies. While he is certainly part of the blame, so is the defense in front of him. Same problem for the last 8 years in Toronto

That would be very early to take lindstrom. I could see him going at #4 to #8, but at #2 it's a stretch.

He had a better draft -1 year than Hagens is having now, and is producing better at the NCAA level right now than Hagens is at the NTDP, while currently only being 5 months older. He's also on the extremely high end defensively</div></div>
No way and contrary to what every pro scout is saying. Hagens is a slight notch below Bedard while Celebrini is a full step below Bedard.

Got the script
Hawks aren't drafting a LHD guy. They have Vlasic, who as a rookie this season ranked top 3 out of all NHL players in the d zone, and former #6OA Korchinski on the 2nd line who at age 19 was the youngest defensive player in the league this season. Beyond that, they are absolutely loaded with LHD young players and prospects. What the Hawks do need is another RHD high-end prospect (Levshunov) and at least 2 more top 6 forward prospects (Demidov, Linstrom, Eiserman, Catton, etc.).

End Of Season Mock
Stiga or Hage i'm guessing will be the Hawks 2nd 1st round pick, both are very interesting unless Eiserman falls further than we all think.
Demidov, Lindstrom, Catton, or Levshunov will be their 1st pick I'm guessing.

No Big Acquisitions Yet Watch and Wait for 2025 Off-Season
2024 Winnipeg 1st or 2025 Calgary 1st, otherwise the Hawks keep Dach. Yes, may be a slight overpayment, but it's going to take quality (not quantity as you have here) to pry him away. Dach looks to be a solid 3rd line player and young good 3rd line prospect/players will take a late 1st to acquire.

Time to Go - Kevy
This is a simple no. That Chicago 2nd rounder is #33, there is zero chance they move that pick.
Skinner, even retained (there's a simple way to do that on this website when you add him to the trade), has a contract that lasts too long. The Hawks will need cap flexibility in two more years and aren't going to weigh themselves down a 3rd year with that contract. They will want to bring in a big name free agent as well that will eat up a lot of cap, and will likely make a move next summer.

I knew a player a decade ago making close to $4M but he was also one of the top paid players in the KHL. However, to keep kids from going to the NHL, it is not unheard of $1M to $2M and there are huge tax breaks for Russian athletes playing in Russia

Interesting proposal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>As a pending UFA...yeah I could get behind that. I'm not sure I want to do that at this upcoming TDL though. Really depends on if the Hawks get another Physical Veteran RD.</div></div>
I have little doubt they will try to move him for a higher price at next year's TDL as trading a guy retained with another full year would be more valuable than a partial season rental. The Hawks aren't competing next year obviously, so if they were able to fetch a 1st or more, they do it all day long IMO. For this offer, probably unlikely but never know...I'm not a fan of Lillypad personally but no idea how the Hawks view him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I'm open to the idea of at some point you make a quality vs quantity move. I get that part. Seems like a bit much for Necas. I don't dislike him at all. I guess I'd be hoping for something more efficient. Either a better RWer as a UFA or maybe Bowman's prospects like Colton Dach and Nolan Allan plus a 2nd. I just don't think KD is trading away 1sts at this point in time. He's still trying to get his picks/prospect developed/developing. In a summer or two...maybe I could see it then, but it just feels too early for this. Kyle's only had this job for 2 years 1 month and 15 days and Luke not even 2 years yet. I wouldn't rush the rebuild.</div></div>
I'd rather see Laine with 2 years left on the deal, and wouldn't cost as much in trade assets, and gives the Hawks the option of trading him at the deadline in 25/26 or resining him. Laine would light it up with Bedard.

I could see the Hawks doing this as his contract expires before they need to sign Bedard and Korchinksi and Laine could be either trade bait or potentially resigned if he develops chemistry with the Hawks.
