Maybe A 3C Trade

Don't use your lack of ignorance around Crevier to respond to those that are educated around the player in fairness. Crevier is a very solid big body dman. He was brought up when Murphy was injured and looked like he belonged, but was playing a significant shutdown roll with the AHL team who was working towards the playoffs. The Hawks are in the belly of rebuild and purposely not rushing their dman. Crevier is going to be a solid heavy hitting 3rd liner and fills a gap on the right side the Hawks don't have in their prospect system.

So you send two rentals (one is a cap dump) for a good prospect to a rebuilding team and you think that works for Chicago? Come on

or it's like they want to play more hockey this spring after getting bounced again

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>Agreed. But not Nylander. He’s their best playoff performer by far. We don’t talk enough about Matthews playoff production.. he’s getting away with it.
Really like the Berube hiring. Exactly what they needed</div></div>
Matthews needs to step up when the going gets tough and be a leader, so far he's not demonstrated that in the post season

Marner is going to crumble under Berube! Maybe Matthews and Nylander as well since they are more concerned with their custom suits...let the chief bring the pain to the Leafs!

Mitch
If the Hawks think they can retain 50% at the TDL and get more for Marner than they do it, however even at 50% of his cap hit, this trade is a big risk with giving up a 1st, 2nd, Kurashev who's very solid and Dach a pretty good prospect....Hawks likely pass

Mock Draft 2024
Highly doubtful Chicago drafts a LHD with any of their picks. They have Vlasic locked in for the first line, Korchinski (former #7 OA) developing for 2nd line, and Del Mastro, Kaiser, Alan, and Phillips fighting for the 3rd line spot.
Also zero chance Demidov drops out of the top 5...he's the only player that if he played in NA would be challenging Celebrini for #1OA

Yes, you're right 3 more years. Depends on Rinzel, he's probably 2 more seasons away, and also depends if the Hawks draft Levshunov and move Murphy. A lot of "if's" for the Hawks to do this IMO.

Tavares Waives for Buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DrumMan44</b></div><div>What exactly is silly about this? If Toronto wants to re-tool and free up $11 million in cap space, this is a fairly painless way to do so. The discussion surrounding Tavares seems to be surrounding his no movement clause. If he won't waive it to go to another team, this might be the only way to get him to do so: by buying him out so he can punch his own ticket.</div></div>
It will cost Toronto more than 11 spots in the draft to free up $11M in cap space for a player that is roughly worth a $6M cap hit. 11 spots is nothing and no team is doing Toronto or any team any favors.

DRW Perfect Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I agree the Hawks won't be paying to take on Maatta but he was one of the better 3rd pair d in the league last year based on analytics. I'm sure they would take him for a late round pick or for future considerations. Could easily flip him at next years deadline for a 3rd or 4th.</div></div>
Hawks don't have the room on the left side to even play Maatta. He is also a well known entity in Chicago and he's a #6 guy on most teams which doesn't fetch much at the TDL.
