Yes. One of the best players of all time for scraps is a great return if your brain is soup.

You would see the regression in his game in numbers. Over a decade ago Quick was fantastic but since then he has been middling and the last two years have been brutal. Trading for him would be like trading for Cam Ward years ago, a mistake! The game is treading away from small goalies and especially ones that make lots of coin for 4 more years!</div></div>
Dude... I’m a hawks fan. I despise the Kings. They took my boys out in 2014 in such a tragic way. I’ll never forget that. I am being objective. I would want nothing more than the Kings to ever be a playoff team again

They won’t take picks like that. They are not rebuilding. They need at least a top 2 D two firsts as a starter especially when Calgary’s picks won’t be great

Stamkos is a choke. He really is. Toews has 3 rings and is one of the best players of all time. So he is no scrub

Landslide win? I don’t think so. I’d take Kane over mariner (right now) over mariner. Marnerhasn’t even seen the second round of the playoffs while Kane has 3 rings and is playing his best hockey of his career with no signs of decline.

He is not great, but he is depth who will have a job which will be grit. I’ll take him over old ass Kunitz who should have retired 2 years ago. Plus we get carpenter over Kruger, shaw as added depth as well. On paper the hawks look really good without even considering dach or Boqvist

I meant to say scheifele is better and anyone who said otherwise is moronic, like my mistake lol. Schiefele is one of the best c’s in the game. Connor isn’t much on his own yet that’s why I would say they are equal.. the thing is that yes the jets lost guys but they only got worse as much as he difference between pionk and Trouba. Add in a likely better hellebuyck, a healthy JoMo and a fixed locker room, and we could end up with a better point total than last year
Every year cup contenders put their faith in young guys and it usually goes well. Let’s hope it does for the jets too. Even if it doesn’t at least we won’t miss the playoffs (fingers crossed)
Hey if we miss, your hawks probably make it, or Arizona does. Idk</div></div>
I believe hawks, blues, preds, Colorado, Winnipeg/Dallas. Will go. Winnipeg normally would be a cake walk in other divisions but the central is no joke (except for the wild Looool) but I can see them making it. They got the pieces to do so

Dsp is nowhere near roslovic. Then there is still Vesalainen who is likely a top 6 guy by then
I give up for some reason it’s not taking my whole reply</div></div>
Kuz is not better than schiefele, he is the most underrated C in the league in my opinion. Kyle is better than oshie ngl. But again if they are just gunna choke then it doesn’t matter, but the division and conference got a lot harder and Winnipeg has deflated and it has just begun. So we shall see what happens

Wilson, Eller, dsp, Connolly, etc. they performed very very well. That was a top to bottom scoring team. Sure the depth probably over performed but they got the job done . You underestimate what that team had, but I agree Winnipeg should have performed better than they did considering the players you have

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>They were just fine with one defencemen. The team just fell apart (apparently a locker room problem but that can’t be all). The jets had a healthy d-core for playoffs (well sort off of you count JoMo with one arm healthy but I digress) and outplayed stl. We dominated those games, ask any stl fan.
As far as the offence goes, it should have, but it didn’t because the top line got overworked and was toast by playoffs. The teams was destroying in the first half and then the top line just stopped scoring like they did before. The jets were a one line team and everyone knew it. Nothing new about hay but that one line just Ran out of steam.
I will obviously assume that if most of you team’a core is under 25. They are going to get better every year.
Don’t get me wrong but this years’ defence will be worse, however, it has potential to be decent. If not rental here we come.</div></div>
Their defense won’t be a dumpster fire for sure but coming from a guy like me who said the same thing in 2015-2016 defensively from the hawks blew up real quick. When you have laine, Connor, wheeler, little, the beast #55, Ehlers etc you shouldn’t have a one line team.... Maybe something should be done about that if they can’t score lol

Hellebuyck lost us the first 2 games but the jets outplayed stl for the first 5 games (save the 3rd period of game 5 where it all fell apart) then in game 6 we didn’t show up. Saying we had trouble doing anything is just wrong
All of those peices are replaceable. Myers with niku. Chiarot with beaulieu. And pionk serves as somewhat of a replacement for Trouba (not really) let’s not forget that we didn’t have JoMo and buff (at the same time) for the majority of he 2nd half which put an emphasis on trouba’s importance. However with a healthy buff and JoMo, both buff and Trouba regressed</div></div>
... I can’t defend excuses. They should have been just fine without one defenseman. Pens did it with a worse defense on paper. That offense should have destroyed almost anyone in the division but didn’t. It is what it is. You are assuming these players will automatically be as good or better with a new team and scheme which is dangerous. Winnipeg was desperate to make a defense and got some nice players but i believe Winnipeg is in for an awakening quite shortly

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>That is true but JoMo and buff are not unknowns. If buff’s mins can get toned down, he is elite. That is a good start. After that they are unknowns yes but the floor for all these players is 3rd pairing d-men. If they all underperform, go out and get a rental too 4 d and you’re set. The offence has no major holes. Even if not, this season will not be lost as the season after will have all these guys potentially playing at top 4 levels.
If I am making a stretch it is with that 3rd pairing. Possibly none of those player make it. However, kovacevic could make the team next month but will likely be sent down. Look for him to be a beast in the a. A Stanley-kovacevic pairing would be better than good for a 3rd pairing</div></div>
Winnipeg had trouble doing anything in the playoffs with buff, morrisey, Myers, chariot, and trouba. With a weaker division than this year. It’s just not looking good at that defense. God forbid buff starts declining at 35....
