Rebuild the Kingdom

I dont understand how anyone can think he is the worst contract in the nhl...mind boggling hes not even close. and people who think he is also dont understand his actual salary will plummet as the contract continues making it easy to buy him out or get a team trying to rebuild and save actual $ to take him. not even close to the worst contract. a former king who just got traded to the flames is actually in the running if you catch my drift

Realistic part 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawks34</b></div><div>Their defense won’t be a dumpster fire for sure but coming from a guy like me who said the same thing in 2015-2016 defensively from the hawks blew up real quick. When you have laine, Connor, wheeler, little, the beast #55, Ehlers etc you shouldn’t have a one line team.... Maybe something should be done about that if they can’t score lol</div></div>
It’s the 2c issue. Little and laine have no chemistry but Maurice keeps putting them together. That makes us a 1 line team. However the 3rd and 4th lines also chip in. It’s just the 2nd. That’s why we need a different 2c. With copp’s recent high level of play, maybe he is the guy.
It’s not that they aren’t destroying teams cause they are (3rd highest goals for with the top line being burnt out by half the season
I don’t think this team will be very good this season but it could be. They will make the playoffs but won’t go far. The peices are there but a lot has to go well for this team, especially on the back end. The season after this should be much better with a better d-core then after that, we’re back

I think that they tough it out for one year then the defence becomes the strong point.

Trying to keep the team together
I think you could add a prospect like harkins and do without the rentention. Also don’t sign all these UFA’s. Vesalainen is 3lw, roslovic 3Rw and little and copp ar 2/3C (whichever one works best) appleton and 1 UFA like lindberg would be enough
On d pairings I would do
JoMo-pionk
Niku/beaulieu/kulikov-buff
Niku/beaulieu-poolman/kulikov
I also don’t think that Connor will get 8. On 6 years I think that 7.5 is the most he gets. Boeser is reportedly asking 7 on mid term. So as 2 years and 7.5 (while boeser is better)

Kessel is 32 if Kessel at 28 couldnt even net that good of a return then this much worse version of Phil sure as **** wont. Ducks are rebuilding they dont need another aging forward on the cap for 4+ years that prevents an actual rebuild.
There are only 2 teams that Kessel would really make sense on, Carolina, and AZ.

Your bitterness really shows when you think Jugs has no trade value. That's just laughable.</div></div>
You are such an idiot it is unreal. You may as well talk about how Jack Johnson could net a first rounder

Blackhawk Down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawks34</b></div><div>obviously the hawks would have to put more pieces than just a salary retention, i was just using the salary retention merely as a cap situation. Kane is in his prime still. kane i think will be a good player up till he retires because of how his game is. Toews i agree may have to get moved but ONLY if the hawks want to go for tavares or something like that. the hawks are not goign to trade him if they don't have a #1C to replace him immediately.</div></div>
I agree, sort of. The Hawks would have to decide whether there's still a 2-3 year window to win another Cup with Kane, Keith and Crawford, at which point getting Max for Toews and saving $6 to $8M would be crucial. Or, if they think they can win with this core and are willing to mortgage a little future, again Pacioretty (discounted for a year) would make a lot of sense. What doesn't make sense is allowing the team to age out and not either go for top draft picks or the brass ring.

Bowman being bold and trading toews
I think the first and the last one are pretty close. Toews isn't worth Tavares, but if NYI are looking at paying Tavares 100M or more to be a 2nd line center behind Barzal he's 36, or just committing 50M to Toews until 35.... obviously Tavares is two years younger right now and coming off a better season, so the Hawks throw in a fair bit, but I coudl see the Isles shrugging it off and calling Toews at 10.5 about as good as Tavares at 12 or more.
The Habs really need a center. Last summer they would have totally made that deal. At the moment, Gallagher's their hot hand, and Toews is looking kind of weak. So no. But some pair of wings.... Might have to take back a cap dump, and anybody's guess which defenseman that means, but it's not like Chicago couldn't use them.

No way is Patches worth 2 1st round picks. Hossa isn't a problem for the Hawks, you can LITR him and his cost is only $1m in salary. A team like AZ would love to has his contract to reach the cap minimum. In other words, Mtl isn't doing the hawks any favor taking the contract so it boils down to two 1st round picks for Patches which is borderline nuts.

Bruh Habs can't offer a cup contending team to JT, the money is basically irrevelant........ Why do you think Stamkos stayed in Tampa for 8.5m??
Jeez man JT would take an offer from CHI hundred times before taking one from the Habs.

Him asking for a trade this early into his career would send bad signals to a lot of teams. <strong>If </strong>he would ask for it, the universal response from everyone in the hockey world would be "suck it up you big baby, you have 10 million reasons to shut your dirty mouth"

Chicago trade offseason
hahaha Eichel will be better then Kane? really man? Kane is on pace to become the greatest born American player of all time. He won't score the most goals especially if you consider Canadian Brett Hull American but will be the best of all time. Eichel won't put up the stats or win what Kane has.
You're own damn GM at the time was so disappointed the Sabres ended up with Eichel.
Eichel is a great player but he's not an elite player of Kane's caliber. Let me know in 9 years how many cups, Conn Smythe, Calder, Hart, Ted Lindsay, Art Ross Eichel has compared to Kane in his first 9 years. He's already behind on the Calder. Eichel is not a player that has elevated his teammates around him like Kane has.
Great to compare ROR and Toews, again what has ROR done for Colorado or Buffalo? Nothing at all. Hasn't won anything, hasn't guided his team to anything. Do you think Chicago cares they are grossly overpaying Toews for the next 5 years after this season? The 3 Stanley Cups, Selke's and Conn Smythe say no.
ROR came into the league in 2009-10 season, Colorado lost in the first round that year .. who won the cup? Right that was Chicago with Toews winning the Conn Smythe. Colorado missed the playoffs for the next 3 years. During the 2012-13 shortened season what was ROR doing??? oh right sitting out like a baby because he wasn't paid the money he thought he deserved for a player who's done nothing in his career .. what did the Hawks and Toews do that year? right another Stanley Cup.
2013-14 season Colorado lost in the 1st round while Chicago lost in the Western Finals in game 7 overtime after coming back from being down 3-1 in the series with Toews leading the way.
After that ROR hasn't been close to post season play while Toews had won another cup .. but you're right man ROR every day over Toews.
You can go on and say Chicago fans are unreal and over evaluate the players on their team but news flash EVERYONE does it for the players on their favorite team.
You keep fighting that battle to make sure all Hawk fans know their players aren't good ... good luck with that.
Check back in when the Sabres, Eichel or ROR have actually done something relevant ...

Chicago trade offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>Double that? Chicago hasn't won a playoff series since the extensions for toews and kaner. To think Kane is worth double that is insane imo. He's scary good but also aging. You get three players that can make up for the production which will help with depth, a thing that a team looking for a Stanley cup run needs. And you dump Seabrooks contract. P Kane is definitely not worth double that. Get real bud.</div></div>
this has to be a joke?
Patrick Kane is a top 5 player in the NHL, won the Hart Trophy 2 years back, will finish in the top 10 in scoring again. He's the face of the franchise in Chicago, hands down their best player. You think Patrick Kane alone is the reason they haven't got past the first round? A lot of hockey a lot of these guys have played. Trading Patrick Kane and Brent Seabrook for over rated and over paid Ryan O'Reilly, soon to be UFA Evander Kane who no team wants due to his poor attitude, useless Zach Bogosian, a guy who can't even crack the top 2 lines on Buffalo one of the worst teams in the league in Sam Reinhart .. ohh and that 2nd rounder the Hawks get while giving Buffalo a 1st rounder.
Come on man .. do some research before posting this trade then trying to defend it. If Buffalo wants Kane it starts with Eichel + coming back
