The only issue with any trade of a goal scorer to my Islanders is that any player is going to have 10-20% less points than being on any other team. Just the way our systems work for some reason.

I'm a big fan of Duchene, but he's past his prime, and I doubt the defensive systems we have will make him worth that money. I'd rather sign Yamamoto, who is only 24, which is an upside compared to Duchene, who is 32.
Keep in mine too, we just traded away a guy who was 32-33, so I'd rather not go back to square one

Like the Bailey trade, Like the Peeke-Pageau trade, I'd rather sign a veteran for a year and wait for Ruslan to improve than trade away Dufour for Strum, I'm not set in stone for Garland. maybe try to find a way to get Crouse out of Arizona

I think this is the opposite of the direction the team should go imo
We NEED to get younger. most of the contracts for players over 30 will expire within the next 2-3 years. If we were there now, I'd say, yeah why not. But to me, this is the complete opposite way to go
