Yes it was a brutal trade. I hope toews kills it in Colorado.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>Simmonds isn't worth 3.5 mil at all, he was terrible last season on a 5 million dollar deal. Brassard on the other hand had a solid season and can be a very good 3rd line center for teams, and the price for that is around 3 million imo.</div></div>
Brassard was awful at center this season - most of the time he played wing where he was actually productive. He was so bad as a center that the isles put bailey at 3C when he hasn’t played C since his junior days.
The isles writer for the athletic said that the isles won’t sign brassard if it’s more than the 1 yr 1.25 mill deal he signed last offseason

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>Those are good comparisons but Toews's offensive capabilities are much better than both those guys. Idk if you're familiar with him, but Jfreshhockey on twitter is a well-known hockey analytics guy and he makes his own models to determine market value (not contract projections) and Toews is north of $9,000,000. He's crazy good and any team would be blessed to have him.</div></div>
Don't use Twitter much lol, but I am familiar with his work. It seems to vary from site to site. EH says Toews was worth less than both Pettersson and Andersson this season ($3.9 MM to their $7.1 MM and $5.8 MM, respectively), while HB Analytics (another guy I like a lot) has Toews worth almost double them, so it's tough to say. $4 million is an estimate on my part, which I know is a little harder to justify with just over $100k left in space, but seems like it's in the wheelhouse for guys in his role + plus whatever implications the flat cap might have. Really have no idea how they're going to handle RFA contracts, I've seen sooooo many numbers thrown out, especially on here, which I think has created some bias lol so $4-$4.25 million is what I've been working with of late

Peace and Quiet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>advanced stats are isolating. His impact on the ice is reflected by his analytics, and the people he plays with do not change that. Having multiple good games in the playoffs does not mean much considering the small sample size. He's also not a very good transition defenseman with a possession exit% of 32%, and a possession exit against% of 24%. He's not good, at all, and you would have to pay to get rid of him. And Toews is projected to get more than 4-4.25 mil by multiple contract projections, including that of EvolvingHockey.</div></div>
The isles won’t have to pay to get rid of Leddy, they might have to retain some salary.

I’m pretty sure EH projected Sean walker to sign for 3.7 mill, and he signed for 2.65 mill. They’re not always right. Toews cost himself some money during the playoffs so it’s very possible he comes in at around 4. In a recent athletic article, league executives/agents said they think toews gets 3.5-4 mill on a 4-5 year deal

I would never do that. Laf is going to be a beast. Best prospect since Matthews and I doubt Toronto trades Matthews for Cirelli and Serg

I think we'd probably have to give TBL a little more for Cirelli, which I'd be willing to do. Also don't think MIN would give up Greenway, but I'd make that trade for Brodin alone. And anything that prevents Gorton from giving long-term deals to Strome, DeAngelo and Lindgren is good in my book! Overall, good trades for the Rangers!

This. I mean barring Eichel, McKinnon or Mcdavid (Which I know is not happening) I wouldn’t move him. Sure we could use a RHD but having Tuch at under 5 million for another 6 years really is priceless

The Rangers can't trade Fast because he isn't under contract; he is a pending UFA. DeAngelo and a 1st (between 21 and 24) doesn't get you the 3rd overall pick, and definitely not Turcotte along with it. To get value, you have to give value.</div></div>

I really just can’t give a definitive answer on that because there’s so many pros, but also a lot of cons.</div></div>
Yeah I doubt it would happen especially with Kyle "the negotiator" Dubas but I was interested to see what you'd think.

No worries, the season pause made a lot of the events like Boudreau's firing seem so far away and Evason was signed to a contract as head coach right before the return to play round started so easy to overlook especially for a smaller market team.

Cirelli
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>This doesn’t help Tampa much because they’re still taking on more salary rather than shedding it entirely. I think the best approach to getting Cirelli, who is a very good target for us this offseason, is to offersheet him. A trade like this is honestly not enough in value for Tampa, since Cirelli is truly developing into one of the best two way centers in the game and Gourde is also good player on a not so great contract, which can be said for Kreider also. Overall, I like the idea but I think Tampa might decline, although they are not in a position of much leverage, so it would be interesting. Also, what’s the deal with Kreider’s NMC? It was supposed to kick on July 1st, so would it be pushed back to the day unrestricted free agency opens?</div></div>
I think that is the consensus. Everything was pushed back this Season, along with his incoming NMC. It would have kicked in at the start of Free Agency, which has yet to occur.
