DeAngelo is worth more than a 3rd.

Whats the plan
DeAngelo's a keeper for NYR, but I can't see how Anaheim wants to trade a first given where they are in the cycle. 2nd for Strome, even 2021, seems like a stretch. Namestnikov deal looks OK.

CSKA New York
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Simondaniel113</b></div><div>what would you offer the rfa?</div></div>
Trouba gets 7.75m.
Buchnevich and DeAngelo each get 2 year bridge deals 2.875 and 2.375m -- see Evolving Wild's projections.
Lemieux gets squeezed as an RFA with no arbitration rights -- just 1m for 1 or 2 years.
In total 14m for the four RFAs.

Strome Beleskey DUMP Smith BUYOUT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>MTL would take Smith if you give up Niklas Jensen's RFA rights.
he got 1 year before he goes UFA in the NHL and low odds he signs with NYR
he's unlikely to sign in NYR but the Big Dane who's been on KHL's only Finnish team
he's a 3rd/4th line guy for MTL but if he can get something going with one of our young guys like Kotkanemi or Poehling it's worth it.
Jensen's a big body with good hands/feet who similar to Armia could make good on his first round draft expectations in MTL</div></div>
If Jensen's rights are worth something to MTL, NYR gladly does that deal to unload Brendan Smith!!!

Strome Beleskey DUMP Smith BUYOUT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BSpadaro83</b></div><div>The whole premise of this roster is wildly off. You are not getting positive assets for Brendan Smith at 100% salary (probably not at 50% either). He has been waived twice and will be waived again before buyout or burial in the AHL. No one is paying a draft pick for him. Same for Belesky.
Now, Smith's contract is slightly appealing for helping Ottawa to the floor, and next year it has a higher cap hit than salary cost which they are big on. So they could be bribed to take him. But getting something in return is not gonna happen.</div></div>
Um, I agree -- Smith has no value in my eyes. Hence the BUYOUT. It is Ryan Strome, who is traded for value, and Beleskey is a throw-in that diminishes his return.

Strome Beleskey DUMP Smith BUYOUT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>Next year either kreider leaves or smith gets bought out, and thats just to cover possible bonuses</div></div>
Why are Panarin and Kreider mutually exclusive? NYR invested in Panarin, but there needs to be other pieces besides a bunch of teenagers. Kreider does not break the bank. If it is 2020-21 that is the issue, then buyout Staal and/or pay someone with draft picks to take Shattenkirk. You can push the squeeze out to 2021-2022 when Hank's contract expires.

Yes, I did but had to add Dallas's 2nd. It is Kreider, Namestnikov, Vesey, and the 49th pick to get to Cozens.

It doesn't -- see 2020-2021 version. The Shattenkirk buyout is not particularly smart, but it puts the Rangers one doable Vesey/Beleskey trade away from enough room to go for Panarin. Otherwise, they need a whole bunch of marginally doable trades (e.g., Namestnikov AND Strome) or wishful thinking trades of retaining on Smith AND/OR Shatternkirk himself.
