Offseason
Sorry the only asset that you are giving up for Debrincat that even intrigues me is Bourgault. Hawks probalby decline. Also, if I'm Edmonton, I'd probably not trade for DeBrincat as he has a new contact coming up and he's probably going to get in the $9MM range. Sign him and McDavid, Draisaitl, Nurse and DeBrincat would take up almost 50% of Edmonton's cap space, a recipe for disaster.

I agree about Zacha, he's good and young, that's why I'd make that deal if I'm the Hawks. DeBrincat and Hughes would be a really dynamic duo though.

Hawks would have a hard time giving up the fourth rounder during a rebuild. Take that out and I'm okay with it.

As a Hawks fan, I would accept, except I'd want the 2023 first round draft choice to only be top 5 protected.

Instead of Jarvis, would Carolina be willing to add Drury? That makes the deal more attractive from a Chicago standpoint.

Overhaul v2
That'll be a no from Chicago. Not going to give up assets in a rebuild. If you give up Mrazek and a first for a "C" level prospect then fine. See the trade for Fleury last year. Something like that.

Total Blowup
As a Hawks fan, I like it but you've already heard from Rangers fans who I can't blame for saying no. Just a nit, but given Davidson's comments, I don't think they sign Strome. I also think that the Murphy trade probably could bring more back, as the Hawks are giving them a solid defenseman (if healthy) for Robertson and a first, as Mrazek and Holl are cap dumps. I think Toronto would need to provide more.

Now that is what I call an aggressive off-season
As a Hawks fan, I'm okay with this trade but only if Suzuki has a clean bill of health (See that he's not playing in the playoffs, assume he's injured). If his injuries are serious, would you consider swapping out Suzuki for Drury? Don't really want Gardiner but understand the cap dump. Hate giving up DeBrincat but I do like the haul coming back.

From a Blackhawks perspective, I'd do it without the draft choice included. Hawks are hoarding draft choices for the rebuild. I like Suter but he doesn't move the needle to damage the rebuild.

Gold Knight
From a Chicago standpoint, they have some leverage here. I would make a deal to get Lehner if I'm Chicago (stable goaltending the next three years, keeps them competitive, but not a contender), however it would take a deal similar to what Chicago gave up to get Fleury, which was basically nothing.

I understand what you're saying about Chicago being in need of a goaltender, but the Hawks are trying to acquire assets, so parting with two picks (albeit not really high choices) is probably too much to give up. The Hawks can probably get a Hill-like goalie in free agency.

NYR - CHI Idea
As a Hawks fan, I don't think that's enough of a return considering what they just got for Hagel. Saw an earlier tweet that the Hawks must be "wowed" to trade Debrincat and this doesn't "wow" me. Maybe take out the 2022 draft pick (heard that Davidson isn't interested in 2022 draft choices as he's revamping the scouting staff to get ready for 2023), and replace it with the Rangers 2023 and 2024 first rounders, plus maybe a second in either year and it's possible.

Hawks have a lot of young defensemen like Pettersson in the pipeline and they'll need to play. Hawks are looking for top level forward prospects plus picks. I don't think they'd give up Hagel plus picks.

You're right, it isn't a bad price, but, again, cap relief is no longer an issue with the Hawks. Unfortunately, the Hawks have a lot of 3rd/4th line guys in their system. They need top end talent. No reason to lose a draft choice to add another guy who's like what they already have.

Don't disagree, but on the other hand where is the intrigue for Chicago to trade Connolly and a pick for Bjork? The Hawks can just bury Connolly in the minors. Cap space isn't an issue.

I think that the Hawks would decline. They don't need Kessel. Arizona would probably be better off trying to trade him to a contender and keeping more salary. I think you'd get a better return.

This deadline will be tough
I think that the Hawks would decline. The two goalies are average goalies at best, and the Hawks have a ton of defensemen in the system like Kokkonen. Besides I think it's a mute point because fleury doesn't want to play in Canada as it's too far from his family and the Covid restrictions are too tight right now.

With the Hawks deal, if the Hawks kept more of de Haan's salary, would you either a.) drop the 4th rounder coming back to the Bruins or b.) add another draft choice or prospect? Not a bad offer though.

Hawks felt the same way about Teuvo but were backed into the corner like Florida will be. I don't think a low first will be much enticement for the Hawks to take on a big contract with that much term left.

That sucks for Florida because I doubt he'd waive his no trade for Arizona or Seattle either then. I'm sure he'd want to go to a winner but there's not many contending teams that could take on his contract.
