<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>MTL definitely has other pieces to get a deal done. It just depends what Habs management is willing to give up. What your suggesting is just an overpayment.

Juulsen and the 2019 1st + a roster player seems plausible, but definitively not Domi. look at the trade that BUF gave for ROR as a template (even if ROR was more valuable back then). They gave:

Zadorov (a solid defensive 1st rd prospect back then who had 15pts in his rookie season)

Compher (2nd rd prospect)
Grigorenko (was already a 1st rd bust, project player)
2nd rd pick

for ROR + Mcginn (who was considered back then as a solid 2nd-3rd liner)

I'll concede that Zadorov was a better prospect back then than Juulsen is now. so let say Juulsen + MTL 2019 1st (top 10 protected) = Zadorov and the 2nd rd pick. that leaves Compher and Grigorenko, which absolutely does not equal Domi in what your suggesting. More realistically is Lehkonen + McCarron.

to BUF -&gt; Juulsen + Lehkonen + McCarron + 2019 1st (top 10 protected)
to MTL -&gt; ROR + whatever you deem is a good 2nd-3rd liner value wise from BUF

this considering ROR somehow hasn't lost any value being 3 years older than when BUF first acquired him.</div></div>

I agree what i said is an overpayment. Have you seen what the asking price has been though? Doesn’t matter what you think is fair. Only matters what they are willing to take. If he isn’t traded by the end of the week he won’t be traded at all. And if the price does not come down he won’t be. But other teams have much better prospect pools to pull from than Habs do.
