2019-20EDM and OTT trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Herms17</b></div><div>from an Oilers perspective, they will say no. Edmonton can't afford to give young, developing Dman that have already proven they are on the bubble to make the NHL.
The best you will get for Brown, IMO, is a 4th. overpaying for a 3rd line player is what got Chai fired. Oiler fans are praying Holland isn't going to do the same.</div></div>
Id agree with this, even if the value isnt all that far off, Khaira and Brown are simular in value and there is no point in trading bear unless if it helps this year or next one with scoring. If you remove the pick and and bear or just remove khaira id say it's plausible

He is younger, very good and will likely get better, but Kucherov is arguably the best offensive winger out there and stone the best two way winger, as good as marner is i dont think he'll ever get that good, and wingers dont get that type of money (ignore kane plz). Also side note, I'll bet that nylander contract ends up being a steal compared to marners, especially if he ends up at center

Kucherov and Stone got 9.5 and Marner is not nearly as good either of those, I'd be very surprised if he gets over 10

This a playoff team
Could be, i think it would be dependent on Edler and markstrom having good seasons, that left side on defence is a little fragile

I do t think they'll trade both but i think persson and Jones makes one expendable, thought I'd trade them for the type of player i thought i could get back with a similar cap hit

I think Larson has quite a bit of value around the league, maybe not enough to get someone like taylor Hall but maybe elhers, josh anderson, mike hoffman, good top 6 wingers but not a driver, basically the type of player Chia thought hall was when he traded him

Ok that i have no issue with, I thought you meant top 5 best player in the world then I'd argue, he's fantastic offensively, not that I'm throwing shade at his defensive game

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jangle29</b></div><div>Lol wrong again. I am a massive leaf fan. I watched every game hes ever played and many with the Marlies. 8 live this year actually. So I am aware he is your average 3rd line player who had inflated stats because of playing on a line with the best 5 on 5 scorer I'm the league and a top 3-5 player in the world</div></div>
I wasn't aware Kapanen played with JT, and while I agree that Kapanen isnt as good as the hype I think his skill set (speed) would work well with McDavid, or Draisaitl who are both great playmakers. Also if I dont have a Toronto trade no one will look apon all my hard work

Team Canada but im not Canadian
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelonVK</b></div><div>I don't mind Weber, like he's fine, but to me it's as annoying as anything when great offensive d-men like Karlsson and Subban get called out for not playing defense. So what does both do? Go and become really good on defense. Now they're getting **** for not having the same point production they had a few years back, but at the same time Brent Burns is as beloved as ever, being much worse defensively than either of the previous mentions ever were. This stuff makes no sense to me. Subban is great. He played a shutdown role the entire season, but is so useful because he can still handle the puck.
There's at least one or two guys I'd chose over Weber, Ellis being one, probably Shea Theodore, and I'd lean Parayko, but probably not Pietrangelo tbh.
Do French Canadians count?</div></div>
Lol beware of the **** you can brew with this question, also yes they have too many good players for us to ignore them

trading for EDM first and dumping cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Would any one care to guess how many 7th or 8th OA picks produced 40 or more pts in the NHL the year after they were drafted in the past 10 years? ONE, Jeff Skinner. But there have also been total busts from those two picks Glennie, Burmistrov, Pouliot, Fleury, Nylander, I stopped at 2016 it is too early to determine their performance. So from 2009 to 2016 18 players picked 5 were busts 28%, I guess, let's make the run at it now adding 3 top 6 wingers.
BTW the 2011 draft was pretty awesome.
Opps, you are correct. The 8th OA nearly always steps right into the NHL and starts producing 50 to 60 pts per year (Miller 47, 58, 56 pts his last 3 years, Gourde 48, 64 in his only NHL years, Palat 34, 45, 52 his last 3 years) and a late first coming back. Now why would Edmonton which needs wingers ever dream of getting 3 of them for only giving up the 8th OA?
That can be handled in many fashions. Retain some of Sekera, trade Gagner, add a pick to move Russel, OMW that is $9,000,000 space that just opened up.
So $90,000,000 move out the 3 players I just mentioned, and poof, they are under the cap and have the wingers to add secondary scoring.
You may be correct that the Sabres would not do this, but check out the Sabres with those 3 forwards on their team right now. In a sense they are in a win now mode with Reinhart on a low contract and Dahlin on an ELC. Gourde, Miller and Palat as the second line. Sheary, Mittelstadt and Rodrigues on the third, Girgensons, Larsson and Okposo on the fourth. I am not sure if the Sabres could make space as easily as the Oilers could.</div></div>
I just wanted to quote this long ass quote

I think the teams would be intrested in this deal but you'd have to convince the players on this deal and that would be a harder sell. But pigs do fly now so it might be possible

Is this realistic
I'm highly doubtful you could sign Ferland for 3.5m, and if that was his going rate every team in the league would offer it to him so he would come regardless. Likely youd have to offer close to a Tom Wilson contract, same for Connolly
