(ANA/MTL) - Perreault for Mysak
Seeing a lot of Laval games myself I can say that Mysak's really starting to be comfortable in the AHL racking up points lately (Because of call ups he's been pushed up the lines) but I don't see an NHL future at all for him. Likely a guy like Jean Sebastien Dea where he's very good in the AHL and might get a crack or two in the NHL but simply becomes invisible in those stints so he's sent back down.
I like it much better with Perreault in my books, fair deal because of two struggling guys but I'm taking Jacob's upside all day.
Bergevin really hitted those back to back 2nds with a struggling Mysak and a powerforward that can't even get a PPG in his fourth NCAA year (Basically a 2nd rounder spent on Condotta). Good job Jack.

(WSH/TOR) - Edmundson for 2024 3rd (NYI), 2025 5th (CHI)
So all in all at this time dropped 5 slots in the third and gained 2 rounds (2024 7th to 2025 5th) to retain under a million bucks.
Far from a blockbuster but at least they recoup most of the investment spent in the first place on Eddy.
One retention slot left for Washington.

Good work Dorion for giving an NTC to an obvious trade away guy on a one year deal, couple of picks better than nothing but at the end of the day wouldn't that money been spent better in FA of 2023 considering you're at the cap? Couldn't they even get a 2024 3rd in the conditional really? Hahaha

Please don't generalize fanbases. There is more Habs fans around here, so more chances to get bad ideas. As a Habs fan myself, I've got more blocked people from my omn fanbase than any others. Buffalo is close 2nd because Eichel wasn't worth 5x1st...
Would be easy to generalise Columbus fans if I see one bad idea, since you guys are like 3 in total. Cheers ;)</div></div>
Why be that nice to him, he's just being salty from the get go. The higher non Montreal pick could be around later teens/early 20s along with a 2nd for someone that's still(was) passing time in the AHL on a bottom 5 league roster. He's a good player thus why I'd trade for him but he ain't no superstar in the making either. Also changing agents early in a contract year... Wondering what's coming for him.

Fair deal, at the end of the day a 3rd is much more likely not gonna become anything in the league for some defensive depth.

Should Montreal Draft More French Canadian ? Taking a deep look into 2013-2023 NHL Drafts
The QMJHL (Most Quebec born are here) just isn't producing good talent anymore, there should be a great redo of the league as there's way too many teams diluting our talent. Would I like Montreal to draft busts only because they're Quebecers? Hell no. The Samuel Poulin, Beaudin, POJ, Comtois, Gauthier, Lapierre and others can be overlooked earlier in the draft because most of them just aren't hitting the mark. A broken clock is right twice a day so of course we'll hit somewhere with a Chabot or Mercer but most won't.

habs fan who should we draft with our top 10 pick read bio
Guhle has developped well and is much likely to become a top pairing guy in the near future. Who else other than him can be pegged as a top pair all around defenseman to pair with? All our eggs are in the same basket to have another stud on our blueline but what if Reinbacher doesn't progress as much as expected? Hutson and Mailloux are more likely to become bottom 4 guys on a contending team as offensive specialists more than anything so I'm not against picking up another top dman prospect if he's your top guy on your board.
In a world where the draft goes down like the DobberProspects rankings go (Celebrini, Demidov, Catton, Lindstrom and Buium selected top 5) and we're sitting there at 6OA, are we reaching for a forward or taking one top defender left on there? Parrekh has the toolkit to become the next Makar.

Of course you think we'll draft a guy in 2024 and that he'll be a second liner two months later. Eiserman had already committed to go to BU next year and he should stick to it to complete his game off the puck.

Probability isn't part of the puzzle, if he gets injured he gets injured, there's no I don't think or why would he be here. If the guy trips on a stick in practice and buckles his knee for a reason or another we lost 100% of the trade asset.

Yet you would've been the first one to cry about not pulling the trigger early if Monahan gets injured later this month in a meaningless game against Chicago.

Then you have to pay for Evans which is probably a 3rd or 4th. Habs dont really need 3rds or 4th rounders so if you made it 2 2nds with Johansen or a 1st if the Habs add a 3rd</div></div>

Fair but the condition is that Florida <strong>wins</strong> the lottery, we're talking about a small percentage of a small percentage.

It's only one year and half of his salary is retained by Nashville so he only costs 4M.

loading up on the 2024 draft
Too many conditions making it a far greater pick?
To clear it up, the whole condition tree is because Florida's pick lottery protected so as we all know this likely ain't happening cause they're good. Now removing this "If Calgary doesn't receive Florida's pick" shenaneegans, the pick we receive is confirmed in 2025 and it'll be Florida's pick except if Calgary's pick isn't top 10, then it's the better of the two. (That's how I see it)
I wouldn't trade what's likely going to be a pick between 11-20 (Calgary's likely a bubble team next year) for a 28-32 pick and the 41th selection, not enough value there. I'd need their 1st this year and Florida's 1st next year.

Monahan much value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>I’m concerned you will dismiss my opinion because I’m a Canes fan and don’t know what I’m taking about…
I’d like to understand why this is a ‘sellers market’ and why you think the market is going to go ‘gazoo’. Why do you think this?
Lindholm’s return was huge but it’s not going to be indicative of the rest of the deals coming. This silly Monahan thing has morphed from him ‘maybe’ getting a first to him reeling in a 1st plus. It’s like overnight Monahan’s ceiling and floor were turned upside down.</div></div>
To be fair it's fairly likely we're in a "seller's" year considering 18 teams have a better than 35% odds of making the playoffs, add NJ, MIN and Arizona that doesn't have much to sell you're left with about 10 teams willing to sell some or all assets. 18/19 potential buyers, 3/4 out of the market teams, 10 potential, we're in a sellers market.
At the end of the day that's what the NHL is looking for, more teams still in the mix by TDL means more fans are still steadily watching games so it explains the more often than not seller market we find ourselves in.
Trades like this one will never happen doe, no chance.
