Barkov to the Red Wings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoolHandGlenny</b></div><div>I actually like that lineup a lot. This TDL would be a good opportunity to trade Fabbri, he's been very solid for us but doesn't seem like a core piece to me. Any concerns with inexperience on that third line?
What would be your estimated price to get Barkov to come up north? I knew $14M felt on the high side when I posted this, but Michigan income tax would take around $600K of that so I was trying to take that in consideration, as well as the fact that the Wings would not be the only bidders.</div></div>
Given that the assumption is that the kids improve considerably I have no problems with them playing on a 3rd line together. Lucas will have been on a pro contract for 4 years by then and he's the one with least experience of the three.
With the cap being flat I don't think any team will have room to offer more than 10-11 million and what will decide is how Aleks likes his role and the direction the team is going. I can see him liking the idea of taking Detroit to a cup in the not too distant future.

I like the idea of signing Barkov but I don't think the amount needs to be that high to get him.
If both Raymond and Berggren improve so much that they're lock-ins on the roster then I'd move Suter to 2LW and play Veleno between the two swedes. Fabbri would have to be traded and Stephens should be 4C. Erne and Rasmussen would have to settle for 4th line wing with Smith as a backup.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yzerphyuk</b></div><div>sure he's a top pair d, on a bad team... like the wings have been for 5 years.
what exactly did you like to his game?</div></div>
His size and strength for one. Sure he made rookie mistakes but that’s because he was a rookie And he continued to improve. He will be a top pairing defenseman on MOST teams in 1-2 years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yzerphyuk</b></div><div>prolly because they don't actually see him play and have any worthwhile opinions? Éric Gélinas drove the vast majority of Seider's points last year and Seider was a pylon at WC vs teams not named Italy or Norway</div></div>
I watched him a lot in GR he will be a top pairing defenseman by the start of his sophomore year. He won’t put up 60 points but he will be a top pair guy.

It might not be as hard as you think to tear Barkov away. Florida are in trouble cap wise. They have more on the books for next sesaon than is coming off before Barkov even starts talking about a new deal and no room.

So long as you don’t make any other long term contracts and are financially responsible it’s a good move imo.

Goodbye Zibanejad Hello Barkov
No thanks. Detroit will keep the 1st.
