I can see how what I said made it seems that way, but I wasn't trying to act like Dvorak is the main piece. Meant to say that from an organizational perspective, how is this a forward move for the Wild? A top 5 pick... who cares? Boldy is a proven top 6 star and the Wild are trying to compete now.

Why is Minnesota trading away their up and coming star winger for a re-tread third line center? This is a backwards move for the Wild.

Minnesota Wild signed Riley Heidt (3 Years / $950,000 AAV)

Same, love that they are getting him on the ELC so quick. I know he’s already lighting up the OHL but the Wild must really see a lot of potential in him to bring him in this quickly. Between him and Yurov, I’m pumped.

Offseason Series - WILD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>Why does there have to be a trade at all? Why can't the Wild just keep him?</div></div>
For the reasons I just mentioned: selling high, team currently being on the smaller side, having to pay those four players all at the same time before 25-26, the chance at obtaining another top-4 D that the org's prospect pool lacks since Faber graduated. Plus, if Yurov or Heidt turns into a viable center maybe that also moves the needle.
Certainly they can keep him, and maybe are content doing so, but it is fun to think about the possibilities.

Offseason Series - WILD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ac3L1ght</b></div><div>No shot we dangle Rossi, unless someone will offer the house for him. Otherwise I WANT ALL OF THE CENTERS</div></div>
And some team very well could, seeing as how most are looking for centers who produce. I think the chances of trading him are definitely low, but if Guerin sells high on him and the haul includes a cornerstone D who can be the heir apparent to Spurgeon in a couple years? Part of my thinking also is that the top nine of this team will be dangerously small going into next season between Rossi, Khusnutdinov, Kaprizov, Johansson, and Zuccarello.
Maybe it's a trade that happens summer of 25' instead, when Rossi, Faber, Khusnutdinov, and Wallstedt all have to be given contracts. We'll see!

Offseason Series - WILD
Depending on how Khusnutdinov does the rest of this season, I think Rossi is dangled this summer if they can get a nice enough return (package him and Middleton for a higher upside top-4 D perhaps?). I also think it is a coin flip on whether Fleury comes back for one more go.

Not enough for Middleton, so the Wild say no. The Wild want more big mobile D-men anyway, not less.

Yea, I am loving that my team has both Rossi and Faber but I would be giddy to hypothetically have Bedard instead.

If Minnesota were looking at blowing it up all together, then MAYBE JEEk is on the block. Maybe not even then. He is their most irreplaceable player not named Kaprizov, and they are nowhere close to that scenario. So, the Wild say no.

Rossi is tied for 2nd in rookie scoring with his own teammate and is finally budding into something while still on his rookie contract through next season when the Wild really need that cap room, so they say no.

Imagine the Wild would like that price, but I think they could get better value signing a UFA than taking on Vanecek's 3.4M AAV. I'm half expecting Fleury to run it back next season anyway.

Definitely only a 3rd for Flower, if that. And Goligoski would be a 'future considerations' type of trade, he has next to no value and probably retires this summer.

Yea the Wild would need to pony up much more for Chychrun. Hunter Jones has no value, he is a struggling ECHL goalie. Bankier is a middling prospect.
Zuccarello just got extended and won't be traded, plus yes why are the Flyers trading for him?
Lol and what is going on with the Samsonov trade?

Petey decides he wants OUT Summer 2024
No thanks on Boeser, I think it would be too dangerous of a trade for the Wild.
I think he is a prime fall-back-down-to-earth candidate whether this season or next, especially if he switches teams off of the high-flying Canucks. I'd rather the Wild see what they have with Khusnutdinov (sounds like perhaps later this season). Plus they would have to pay Boeser in a couple years when they already have to pay Faber, Rossi, and Wallstedt that same summer, and then Kaprizov again the year after.
