(SEA/NYR) - Wennberg for 2024 2nd (NYR), 2025 4th (DAL)
So, the first thing i saw was a post-poned contract for the final year of his contract, right. So a savings of 2.25 is fine when the AAV is 4.5, but when player is owed 5.0 mil in final year, Seat's automatically saves 500K, and then the difference in play time over the course of the season (60games out of 82) vs the 50% expected to pay, right.

(OTT/FLA) - Tarasenko for 2024 4th (FLA), 2025 3rd (FLA)
There's no guarantee he resigns with Ottawa anyways after the season Ott's has had. The NTC maybe was frosting to encourage player going to Otts, 5 mill may not have been good enough to player. So IF Otts actually got the SERVICES of Tarasenko with the help of the NTC for 60 games, and STAIOS gets 2 draft picks for a player who might have walked away from Organization at end of season anyways, then I have to say, its gotta' be an alright trade, having left the trade until trade deadline day. Florida gets a winger, but really when it comes to playoffs, its about defense, isn't it?

(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)
Flames gave up HUGE faceoff winner centerman to division rival. Signing Brzustewicz might pay off in long run, sort of like that First round pick. But if Vancouver lost Hoglander instead of Kuzmenko... ????

Ottawa Senators signed Shane Pinto (1 Year / $775,000 AAV)
I said "no". It didn't cover more then the balance of the year. He's looking for a lot more money, and Sens have already paid their 8's. Cap-strapped. None of the current players complained about getting their "8"s either.

(ANA/PHI) - Drysdale, 2025 2nd (ANA) for Gauthier
Okay, I like the trade. Drysdale was injured earlier this season but is coming back. Anaheim has both Warren, Zellweger and how many other young D coming but Anaheim got another shooter/faceoff artist. As for, Gauthier, beside having a massive shot, he handled more faceoffs at the World U20s, 72 f/off wins out of 117 f/offs, see other Anaheim teammate, N Gaucher (Memorial Cup and Worlds). On the flip side, Flyers get a young D who's game ready and a 2nd round pick.

'Filler' for injury not replacement. Even Edmonton went out and made immediate acquisitions on broken clavicle, right. Why not continue to find out about costs of Guenther or players like that??

Did you see him as a 17 yr old turning 18? I can understand it, if you did. Then you waited and waited before signing him. Mr Toure played on a strong Sudbury team, its not like his teammates didn't help him with his point totals, see his previous seasons of playing hockey. If Sens would be planning on him being a stay at home project player, I can also understand that.... but why not look at the winning teams first? Peterborough, North Bay, Seattle, Kamloops, etc... ?? And how the frig did Sens miss on 2nd highest scoring player in the BCHL on winning club, to go for players who've just been introduced to OHL?

Montreal gets "players" from Pitts to allow pitts to get a 30 something year old dman to go with mid to late 30s forwards; San Jose lets a 30 something year old dman go to Pitts burgh but doesn't give up anything to Montreal to make this deal happen, only Pitts does - never gets a glimpse at Stanley with this dman combined with Burns etc.... expecting something different in Pitts? only time will tell, and for Pitts time isn't their friend. Closes a bad situation in San Jose, that only left bad taste in San Jose's mouth. And don't forget for Pitts, will require certain kind of defensive partner for offensive Karlsson.

Arizona Coyotes signed Logan Cooley (3 Years / $4,450,000 AAV)
I'm glad that Arizona selected Cooley and signed him, especially for their fans sake. However, I have to admit, I'm also happy that Coyotes went defensive in first round too. Potentially, selecting Benson or Perreault as linemates or teammates, might have left me a little unhappy.
