I hear what you are saying and I wasn't trying to put down his attempt, but on the Jets they would be. Not that they are horrible. They are just not better than what the Jets already have. Which in turn makes them "spare parts". They are very good players on a very bad team. I won't deny that. They just don't make the Jets better.

While I am sure these are all good players on the Sharks team. None of these guys would have a spot on the Jets or even make the Jets better. Like Rooney said. Helle will probably just be out for tonight's game and Ehlers and Wheeler will be back in a couple of 3 weeks. We will then need to put guys on waivers. This is also a big ask for a bunch of spare parts. As of right now, I don't think the Jets need to make any moves.
Great attempt though.

Come on now. Clearly Rittich is an expiring contract that helps Winnipeg fit Reimer. The 2nd is for Reimer and they won't get more than that for him.

I agree on potentially the over pay for Toews. Just had to clear caps space.
Kuzmenko has not been good defensively or he wouldn't have been benched a couple times already and even a healthy scratch. However, I was not looking at him for his defensive play.

Agreed. He doesn't play much defensively, but I think he would look good on the Jets for a run.

Let the kids play
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>There's really no motivation for the Jets to give away Dubois or Wheeler next year.</div></div>
Honestly, I agree with you. You look at what DeBrincat went for this year and I can say that no one on this site knows value. To me DeBrincat and Dubois are the same and he was stolen by Ottawa.
I just want to see the young kids play. I feel like we have a really good young core and if we give them 2 years to play the NHL game, maybe we can keep Conner and Ehlers for a bit longer.
At the end of the day, stripping Wheeler of the C is kind of the writing on the wall that he will likely be moved. Could we get more? Maybe if we eat cap, but I am not sure what the return would be. I could be a homer and overvalue him, but the fact is guys are being traded for much less than I would've thought.

Minten was a 2nd round pick. Doesn't really have stats that stand out either.

I doubt Chicago is going to take on cap dumps and eat salary for Kane. You are really only giving them Robertson and a late 1st that hold any type of value. I think they could do a lot better than that from every other teams.

Trade deadline deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Canes won’t be trading for PLD, since he would likely be a rental. And the Canes biggest piece they gave up for a rental was a 2nd round pick when they traded for Mark Recchi for the 2005-06 playoffs. So trading a first and Necas for a player who doesn’t seem to want to be here is comical. You should probably rename the title to deadline deals that won’t happen as that would be a lot more accurate a description.</div></div>
Is that response really warranted? Couldn't just say that you don't see this happening? How is someone with rfa for 1 more year a rental?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delneggs</b></div><div>Copp is way younger and they were hoping to sign him long term, which is not the case with Wheeler, so the comparison makes no sense. Plus with the signing if Trocheck long term they have 1C and 2C figured out and Laffy and Kakko for top two lines on RW, so zero need for an old Wheeler. Certainly not giving up a 22 year old with a ton of skill and a 1st round pick to rent him either.</div></div>
That is a fair evaluation. So the Rangers are not a fit. Some team will pony up at the deadline.
Appreciate the feedback.

I do believe that the whole Montreal thing is being blown out of proportion. The same thing was said about Trouba and Detroit because he said it would be nice to return to the Michigan area. MOney and chemistry changes players minds.

I’d argue that this is could be considered and overpayment but with interdivisional tax I’ll call it even.</div></div>

Does Toews fit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Lol. You're only knowledge appears to be "he's from Winnipeg, the Jets should get him."
When you take the time to educate yourself a little on hockey, you'll realize the value of various players at various ages. Right how you're a little ignorant on players and their values. As I said, Toews isn't 25 anymore.
You shouldn't get so defensive about making a bad proposal. Accept the input and use it to learn.</div></div>
This has nothing to do with him being from Winnipeg. Toews at 5.25 mil to serve as a mentor to Conners, Ehlers, Scheifele, Perfetti, Lowry is well worth it. He is not asked to go out anymore and score 60-70 pts. He would be brought in at a lesser role. It is not a bad idea. In fact it has a ton of upside. You go on everyone's thread and pretend that you have any knowledge. You have made 8800 posts on other peoples boards and 0 of your own posts. I would hope so. Although, since his bout with whatever he had a couple of years ago. He has not looked the same. I think he might enjoy a limited role and become more of a mentor.
