Konecny and Voracek are good line 1 and 2 right wingers. I wouldn't give up our only young right handed defenseman for Kapanen to go on our third line. NAK and Pitlick already work well a line 3 and 4 right wingers. Myers is just not for sale anyways. Flyers plan to keep him long term, as he seems to be an established top-4 defenseman that can be a good fit for the team.

How am I supposed to rebut that? Gaudreau has produced at an elite level for 5 seasons, just because Konecny had one good year and is signed for 5 more doesn't make him a more valuable asset haha.</div></div>
I just explained why Gaudreau is probably not going to age well. Konecny might go down a similar path because they have similar playstyles. Konecny is younger, so his skills will last longer.
Gaudreau's past performance doesn't matter if he's playing the way Konecny is right now. Again, Konecny is young and Gaudreau is somewhat old. Konecny hasn't hit his prime yet and it at Gaudreau's level right now. Gaudreau is aging and while he could still play well since this year was just a down year, his numbers will still go down.
Anyways, I'm done arguing with you. Seems like you don't understand the importance of contracts and have no knowledge on trade value factors. It's not worth my time.

I just explained how Konecny is a more valuable asset than Gaudreau and therefore he's the most valuable piece in the trade proposal. Prove my points that I said above wrong.

Two trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurnEmUp</b></div><div>Ugh, I don't have the energy....and you won't be convinced otherwise (neither will I) but here we go....
I get it, Konecny just had a great year and is trending up while being cost controlled and on top of that you're a Flyers fan and probably love the guy and the way he plays. Also, Gaudreau just had a down year for him and everybody on this site seems to think he's just a turd on skates or something. It's unreal.
But get back to me when Konecny has put up a 99 point season or produces a point per game over the course of 5 seasons, or when he's gets some Hart trophy votes, or when he does this:
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>Between 2016 and 2019 Gaudreau placed 5th in the league amongst forwards in 5 on 5 scoring rate (2.58/60). The top 10 is:
Mcdavid
Kucherov
Marchand
Matthews
Gaudreau
Malkin
Kane
Crosby
Panarin
Guentzal
During the same time period only one player in the entire league was in on a higher percentage of his teams on ice 5 on 5 points and that was Mcdavid.</div>
No offense honestly, I'm just really tired of seeing Gaudreau proposals where opposing teams fans pop in with the ole "my team easily declines". Bull**** they do. He's one of the top offensive players in the league and is on a massive steal of a contract right now, guys that do what he does get paid $10+ million AAV now. Maybe they decline, maybe they don't...but "hard pass" "easy decline" ??? LOL Let's get real here. Maybe you the fan easily declines that, but no GM with a half a brain would, and while Konecny is an awesome young player (obviously I think so, that's why I'd want him back for Johnny) he is not more valuable than Gaudreau because they had similar production for one year.</div></div>
The contract situation is huge and it does make a good difference in value. Flyers have Konecny locked up for five more years on his contract, while the Flames only have two on Gaudreau's contract. On top of that, Konecny has a lower cap hit. I get that Gaudreau had a down year, but how much better is he going to be over the next few years? He turns 27 this summer and his playstyle involves speed and skating. That diminishes as a player gets older. I'm not very confident that Gaudreau will age great. I know that Gaudreau would enjoy playing in Philly, but there is no guarantee that he will resign there. Even if we do extend Gaudreau, Konecny is going to be better by the time we do that. The performance that Gaudreau has had over the past years don't matter if he's not that same player anymore.
You are definitely going to hear, "my team easily declines," if you put up a garbage offer. Flyers already have no interest in Bennett or Kylington. Konecny is too much to give up for Gaudreau, let alone adding in Frost and a second round pick. So yes, it is a "hard pass." Konecny and Gaudreau had similar production this year. Konecny is still young and will continue to develop. Gaudreau is aging and will begin to decline soon. Like I said before, Konecny is on a better contract. Surely Konecny has more value over Gaudreau.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThewsTML</b></div><div>LOL, Scott "32 point career high" Laughton is better than Johnsson who scored over 40 points in his rookie year (and was on a 48 point pace)? Johnsson would instantly become your 5th best winger by a large margin after Giroux, Voracek, Konecny and JvR, and adds a great option into the PP2 and can easily slot into the top 6 if injuries arise. The cost you give up is a 3rd liner, and in OP's deal the Flyers also get a 4th rounder, which I definitely don't agree with, it should be the Flyers adding a sweetener there. Johnsson's younger and has top 6 potential. Laughton is a career bottom 6er.</div></div>
Ever thought about considering this year's stats? Laughton is on pace for 45 points and Johnsson is on pace for 40 points. Laughton has started to play on the second line because he has been playing good in the bottom-six. Meanwhile, Johnsson has been playing in your top-nine with your four superstars for all of the games he's played this season and yet Laughton still has better production. I don't care is Johnsson was better than Laughton in the past. Flyers are in win-now mode and they can only win right now, not in the past. Johnsson would also be our sixth best winger because Lindblom is also better than him. There isn't even any room for him in the line-up. Lindblom and JVR only play left wing and Voracek only plays right wing. Johnsson only plays left wing as well. Giroux and Konecny can play either wing, but that would drop Johnsson down on the fourth line and I'm not paying $3.4M for a fourth liner when we're already going to be in a cap crunch. Like I said before, Laughton is a little more flexible and he can play center or on the wing. $2.3M is a good price for a 3C if our top-six is full. If anything Toronto would have to overpay because the Flyers aren't changing something that doesn't need to be changed.

He is good. Really good. But no, he is not the better centre lol. That's an argument I need to hear lol.
I didn't say Niskanen is a cap dump, he would look like it in that deal. Given the depth of Philly's RD, I would argue he could be moved. Would I? Probably not. But the depth is there to do it.
Hart is just off limits.</div></div>
As of right now? Couturier is better. In the past? Tavares was better.
I get that Couturier was on pace for 70 points this year and Tavares was on pace for 78. However, Tavares gets to play with elite talent on his powerplay unit. The powerplay of the Flyers doesn't have the same talent. The more important factor should be Couturier's defensive play. He should be a finalist for the Selke award this year. That outweighs having lower production than Tavares. That should should settle the argument.

NOTHING! The deal creates a problem in Philly that took them 30 years to solve!!!! No. No. No. No. You aren't going to sell me on how good Marner and Tavares are. 30 years!!!!! Best tender the Flyers have had since effin' Hextall! Fletcher would be fired for picking up the phone, nevermind actually making the deal."
Great point on the cap compliancy as well. Missed that one.</div></div>
Well, you only covered half of what I covered and the rest contradicts what I said. You said they massively upgrade in center and right wing. Couturier is the better center. You're right that we upgrade in right wing even though we don't need any more right wings. Niskanen isn't a cap dump. You're right when you said Hart is the piece that the Flyers have been looking for.

Couturier is more valuable than Tavares.

Niskanen is our only first pairing defenseman.
You're never getting Hart. Leafs fans need to stop trading for him.
It's not even cap compliant for the Flyers.

Philly
I wouldn't do this if I were Philly. As much as Voracek's contract scares me, I'd like to keep him, at least for now. A lot of people are saying that we should CBO him it there is one, but I strongly disagree with that. Him and Gaudreau were on pace for similar production this year. It doesn't make sense to have to pay to swap Voracek out with Gaudreau when you're a win-now team. That would be a lateral move for us as of right now. Then it would hurt our future as time goes on. I think a lot of people underestimate Voracek's leadership for the Flyers and it's definitely better than Gaudreau's, even though Gaudreau will have a lot of passion in Philly and fans will have passion for him. While Gaudreau probably had a down year, I'd still have Voracek over him just for those leadership purposes. Thornton hit 82 points when he was 36 and I like to hope that Voracek walks a similar path.
However, by the way it looks, it seems like you are trying to take on Voracek as if it would be helpful for Philly. If you take Voracek out I think Philly would accept, although it might need some salary retention to make it work. It's essentially two first round picks and that seems like a good price for Gaudreau. We'd only give up futures, never roster players. Unless of course, they're minor roster pieces and bringing in Gaudreau would still be a much bigger upgrade. Morgan Frost is one of our fan-favorite "young guys" in Philly, but we're loaded with center depth and unfortunately, as much as I love him, I think he will be on the move at some point.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flamesfan</b></div><div>Flames wouldn’t do that trade gaudreau is very undervalued on this website.</div></div>
Well, that's because his value is diminishing. He's turning 27 in two months and he'll only have two years left on his contract. He primarily uses skating and skill for his performance and that wears down as a player gets older. He has hardly and physicality to his game. Honestly, I think Voracek at age 30 will be better than Gaudreau at age 30 because Voracek is bigger and plays with physicality. He doesn't rely on skating and skill as much as Gaudreau does.

Wont happen but interesting idea
Leafs definitely have to add because Parayko has two years left on his contract and Rielly has only one. I'm not really sure what those pieces would be. I also think that some Leafs fans overrate Rielly and some Blues fans overrate Parayko.
I think swapping Rielly for Parayko would be a possibility as I see it helping the weaknesses of both teams. Rielly is offensive-minded and left-handed. The Blues could use an offensive defenseman and a left-handed shot. Parayko is defensive-minded and is right-handed. The Leafs could use a defensive defenseman and a right-handed shot. Even with all that said, I don't think either team is looking to change things up, especially the Blues. Both players are good leaders for their teams and are fan favorites. I also think that the plan for the Blues is to let Pietrangelo walk at this point. They should be keeping Parayko and the only reason why they should be trading him is to open up cap space. They probably still can have Rielly and Pietrangelo, but that too unlikely.
