It will be hard to get Dermott for under 2mil. Won't have room for any scratches under the current roster

Not sure why Philly would need Kerfoot. they have enough 3rd liners already, too much actually.
Gregor is decent, but I would rather just have our guys as depth pieces and just get picks back for Engvall and Holl. Korshkov, Anderson, Barbanov, Vesey, Spezza, and even Boyd are all better then he is. Now Gregor could be better one day, but I mean that doesn't really help the leafs right now</div></div>
I was mostly just shedding the cap to a random team. But I think all 3 contract's I've traded away are pretty necessary at this point.

Yeah it can be for a 7th round pick for all I care, just took a random prospect, as long as they shed the salary of those 2 I'm happy

LMAO at the terms of those contracts first of all. This Defense is not good enough to win. Something will happen, there's no way this is the defense core they send out.

Unfortunately this is how the bottom 6 will look like since the top guys take a huge bulk of the salary. Also Bracco still a high potential player, and what is wrong with Petan at 4th line? He is a known penalty killer too, with a very cheap contract.

Robertson will likely not be NHL ready next year, let alone first line minutes. I agree with trading away one of Johnsson or Kapanen, but definitely not both. I can't see Pietro taking this deal either.

With a big projected cap increase
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>No way in hell Mikayev gets 2.8? Are u kidding me. Johnsson last year: 43 points in 73 games. 20 goals.
Signed a 4 year 3.4 million deal
Kappanen: 44 points in 78 games. 20 goals. Signed a 3 year 3.2 million contract.
Mikayev this year: 23 points in 39 games. On pace for 48 points in a full year.
He’s putting up similar numbers to what those guys did. I made the contract a little less because of Injury, but he’s gonna be around 2.5 million forsure. Just look at his comparables</div></div>
You can't compare someone who has played for half a season to others who have been there for multiple years and give him a contract based off of them. The sample size is too small. I do like him, but I can see him signing a one or two year deal at around 1.5 and have a chance to prover himself and earn a bigger pay after that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Miguelicious</b></div><div>So with all of Leafnation praying for that 6.5M handout, the best ya'll couldve gotten was adding in Damon Severson?
That's with subtracting Liljegren and Barrie. Ouch!
That speaks volumes to how bad the cap's been managed out there.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LakeTrout</b></div><div>Wow! Look at that huge increase and all of the cap you have left</div></div>
The cap is poorly managed with this ACGM post, no way in hell Mikheyev gets 2.8mil, and Johnsson would likely be included in a trade for a RHD. Either way Dubas knows what he's doing and thankfully he is the GM rather than many of the Leafs ACGMs

Next year
They can't willingly keep someone on LTIR if they are cleared to play. I know people will want to refer to the Lupul treatment, but he was in fact incapable of actually playing, even after receiving a second opinion. If they sign Pietrangelo, there's no room for Dermott on this team, and Johnsson likely would need to get traded as the cap will probably not be 88mil.

However, I really don't like Rielly-Barrie unless we're behind. So if we do Rielly-Dermott which is what I think we should do, it leaves one of Ceci-Barrie playing their offside.</div></div>
That's why I think the lines I put are what Keefe will so, nobody is on their offwing and Keefe was doing the Rielly-Barrie pairing prior to Rielly's injury.

You can almost guarantee that a fully healthy D core would be:
Rielly - Barrie
Muzzin - Holl
Dermott - Ceci
Sandin was fine to fill in, same with Liljigren. But I'd let them both go log big minutes for the marlies to finish off the season/playoffs. Both should be regulars at the start of next season.

stop putting Kerfoot at right wing
I've said for a long time that Kerfoot looks way better when he is at the 3C position. For some reason, JT and Willy always look so much more dangerous when they have someone else on that line. I hope they try Mikheyev there when he is back!
