<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Buffalove</b></div><div>There’s A LOT here that just doesn’t make much sense
1- Jokiharju for a guy you’re gonna play on the 4th line??
2- Dermott for the top pair when just about every Leafs fan wants to dump him??
3- Nick Cousins, a bottom6 guy who can’t score, on the 1st line??
4- Breaking up there Skinner-Thompson-Tuch line that’s been awesome for us??
5- Bringing in Koskinen?? He blows dude. We gotta do better that that. Heck, Anderson is- even in his 40s</div></div>
1. Jokiharju has been one of the worst regular dmen in the league this year. Outshot and outchanced heavily at even strength.
2. Dermott has been fine while he's been in the lineup. He's got strong defensive stats and I think would pair well with Dahlin while not costing as much as some of the other available dmen (severson, chychrun)
3. Him being on the 1st line doesnt matter. He's had really positive defensive metrics while not being an anchor offensively for like 3 seasons now.
4. I'm not married to the skinner-thompson-tuch line. Thompson has played well enough where I don't think he needs a guy like Tuch to drive play offensively. Putting those 2 on different lines i think would work well.
5. Koskinen is better than his sv% would indicate. He doesn't have to be the answer. I'd be fine with Anderson coming back if he continues to play well this season

Dahlin has finally taken a big leap forward- IN PART- to having him as a steady partner</div></div>
Dahlin has showed glimpses but he has not "taken a big leap forward." Him and Jokiharju have a 42% expected goals percentage at even strength. Points are not how you should evaluate defenceman.

Cliffton has had really good defensive metrics. I'm sure part of that has to do with quality of teammates and the bruins always being a strong defensive team, but I still think theres a solid player there that would work well with dahlin

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>I wouldn't trade Olofsson OR jokiharju for that, let alone both
Then there's the rest...yeesh</div></div>
Jokiharju has been one of the worst D in the league since his 1st sabres season in 19-20 when he was stapled to Scandella. Olofsson has never been a good 5v5 player but his PP production saved him and now even though he might be playing injured, he's effective in no role. I'd rather have a somewhat effective even strength play driver that probably still has some development.
Nichushkin is really good, overpay on AAV to keep term below 5.
A 2nd is probably Bear's value.

Larsson's defensive impact is similar to a player like ROR. He's honestly a perfect fit for the leafs and Dubas is smart enough to see how good he is, i'd bet money he's a leaf by monday

yea I see what you're saying I'm just thinking of two struggling teams dealing from a position of strength. the value is probably off but tbh I think my judgment of value is off because whenever I post one of these sabres fans rip me for "undervaluing" their players. some sabres fans have no clue how bad some of the players are

montour's played the left side most of the season and SJS's XGa is bottom 10 in the league. Montour's not perfect but he would definitely be a upgrade over some of their terrible defencmen at suppressing chances (burns)

I do watch the games. I also gave you examples of why he's not good. You have no argument. I'm not saying he's a useless player. He's been really effective on the pp over his career but 5on5 he's not good very good in either zone.

1 bad year? he's been one of the worst players in the league in terms of shot attempts and chances for/against since his first year in the league. This is probably his best season so far but he's still a well below average dman and is negative in most statistics. he's bad
