How do you figure?!? All those trades make perfect sense.</i></div></div>

Silfverberg+ Vatanen for one, those are very talented young pieces for the Ducks, Pouliot is a nice prospect pieces but I don't think he projects any better than Vatanen, Silfverberg is a solid piece but I don't think Hornqvist is any better than him. So ducks giving up big value don't seem to see any improvements, just have to take on more cap, especially having to take a contract dump in Kunitz who is terrible now.

So Pens get the better younger players and more cap relief? So yes its a pie in the sky trade</i></div></div>

So none of those evaluations are correct. Silfverberg has 2nd line production levels. Hornqvist has 1st line production levels. And his cap hit is only $600k more than Silfverberg's for the same term. Vatanen is 3 years older than Pouilot. In 3 years Pouilot is projected as a 1D. At worst he is equal to Vatanen. If you believe in pedigree then Pouilot being a Top 10 pick has the better of Vatanen who is a 4th round pick. Kunitz is included to make the cap hits close to equal.

The big question in this deal would be who wants Pouilot? I doubt the Pens give him up at this point as he's finally ready for the NHL. I don't think the Ducks are wanting to get younger for the same reason the Pens don't; their Core group of players is nearing the end of their prime. That's the reason why this wouldn't happen and not an issue with the respective talent levels of the players involved because just based on talent the Ducks would be getting a much better offering.

Can't say the same about that TBL deal though. That's not a fair offering. And I can't see DET having interest in a 13th forward.</i></div></div>

Then explain to me how all the shot based metrics have these sort of comparisons bw the players. When you put contracts and age into consideration in these moves, no I am not off in the analysis of the players.</i></div></div>

So the first one clearly demonstrates my point that Hornqvist is better than Silfverberg. Thanks. And the second one is an easy explanation too. Pouilot has 36 career NHL games. Vatanen has 170. It's a sample size issue. That's also why you had to go back to 2015 to get data on Pouilot.

Again I said "in 3 years" Pouilot is projected as a 1D. So if that holds true trading Vatanen for Pouilot is at worst resetting the clock. But I can't see that having any appeal for Anaheim for previously stated reasons.

It also helps to look at the raw numbers and not the team relative ones in the WARRIOR charts.

That's where I'm basing my opinion on Silverberg being a 2nd line player.
