They're so bad that it went passed the point of being ashamed, full circle to being funny again, but it went passed that, so it's a laped," you should be ashamed"

Leafs trade for Hall be wise you can never have enough forwards
Great trade for the Devils, lots of assets for a couple good rentals and they could easily flip Muzzin for a decent pick and could likely squeeze a late pick out of Ceci at the TDL.
Vatanen fits the mold of the type of D that Dubas wants and Hall is Hall, that's a pretty solid top 9, likely the best in the league.

Trades with Winnipeg and Minnesota
Jets pass, I saw a conversation about a Perreault for Russell trade and it led me to the same conclusion. The jets are going to value any f depth over Russell right now. People talk a lot about how jets are weak on d, but we really don’t have much bottom 6 depth. Like Lowry is much more valuable to the team as he pks, takes huge faceoffs, and plays in big defensive moments.

No problem, I'm a big hockey nerd and love to talk about that stuff.
Well in Aho's case, since he's not coming to Canada, everything I explained does not apply. What I explained with the SB is the way to limit Canadian tax and put the player in a similar situation as if he was in the US, it levels the edge US teams have in that specific situation.
Aho is going to pay the normal 45% rate that applies in North Carolina on both the regular salary and SB.

(TOR/COL) - Kadri, Rosén 2020 3rd for Kerfoot, Barrie 2020 6th
Barrie was a sheltered player in Colorado. 60%+ starts in the Ozone. Not sure Toronto can shelter him. It's not like they are strong behind him. He's clearly not a 1RHD, he's not good in his own zone. Even if they do shelter him, they are in the same position they were before, who is going to play the hard defensive minutes here? Holl, Ceci? Dermott playing on the off side?
My biggest issue with the move is they got smaller. For a team that other teams are already going to push around, they got smaller. Say what you will about Kadri, he wasn't going to put up with no crap. They lost another player like that for two 5'10 guys. Where is the push back on the roster? There is none. I guess seeing teams with no push back get knocked out in the 1st round last year didn't teach TOR anything. TB, gone first round, Penguins gone 1st round, TOR gone, 1st round. The regular season and the playoffs are two different games.
As for the rental, TOR could resign him, at a cost. Their hole defense next year is going to be having issues and people will be getting raises in Muzzen and maybe Berrie. They only have 1 defense man signed next year so that will be interesting.

(TOR/COL) - Kadri, Rosén 2020 3rd for Kerfoot, Barrie 2020 6th
I’ve been an absolute junkie for this site for years. Read a lot of things that got on my nerves. Like ridiculous armchair GM rosters with awful trades and terrible signings, where someone way under or over paid someone etc... But I was always too lazy to create an account or bother saying anything. Well I just created the account. For this lol. I’m really shocked to see everyone bashing Colorado and Sakic here. I keep reading about this retained salary over and over and over, yet no one has bothered to point out that Barrie is in the last year of his contract or the fact that the Avs swapped a 6th for a 3rd. I’m Canadian. I know how big hockey is here, but let’s all relax and look at this objectively for a second. Barrie has exceptional puck moving skills, but isn’t that great defensively at all. No offence to Barrie, I love the guy. For the most part, under normal circumstances, trading Barrie for a solid second line C, is a fair deal. However Kadri is signed for a few more years at a very reasonable salary, while Barrie is in the final year of his contract and will ask much more next year. At this point in the trade, I’d say Avs are ahead. So they decide to add another player each in the deal with Kerfoot being a little better to even things out. Then the leafs pay for the salary retention by drastically upgrading Colorado’s draft pick. I’m an Avs fan and I voted fair deal. You people need to stop leaving out key aspects to this trade and putting down an excellent GM in Joe Sakic. Furthermore from an Avs perspective, all they were missing was a talented second line C to contend for a cup. That was the biggest priority this offseason. They didn’t need Barrie, nor could they protect him in the upcoming expansion draft. Too many D to protect and not enough forwards. Avs traded what they had too much of, for what the needed most. This was a fair and perfectly logical trade by the Avs. What will leafs fans be saying if Barrie leaves at the end of the year, or if someone else of equal importance has to leave at the end of the year to make room for the Barrie’s salary increase? But no let’s all leave that stuff out and laugh at the Avs. Ridiculous.

I find it funny Marner leads the team in scoring and Leaf fans think you can low ball him and get him to take less than other players. He did not sign earlier because he wants more money and if you do not pay him someone will.

MacArthur and Gaborik ARE cap hits: $9.525M to be exact. In the trade above OTT is trading $12.625M away and getting $11.125M back - it makes zero sense for them if they're trying to reach the cap floor.

3 way NYR CAR
Why wouldn't the Rangers just deal with Carolina and Edmonton directly? Why do they need the Oilers as a middle man?
They acquire Fox from Carolina for a smaller price (3rd or 4th Rounder) since we all presume he is coming to them, anyway. Then trade Pionk to Edmonton for the 2nd and the 5th (or even Puljujarvi straight up, if they are done with him). No middle man needed.

If you think Spurgeon is over-priced, you don't know much about how good he is! If you want proof, just watch last night's Wild game against the Islanders. Spurgeon was BY FAR the best player on the ice...for both teams!
