Call me Sonny Weaver
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DReedy14</b></div><div>I get when you're a fan of the Leafs (no hope of actually moving past the second round) that the offseason is more exciting when you can talk s***. We can too, y'all are the Knicks of the NHL, lots of talk and media coverage but very little actual success. No, my team hasn't won a cup, but yours hasn't since there were only six teams. SIX. More than half a century, in a massive market with plenty of free-agent appeal and you guys have as many Cups as the Atlanta Thrashers.
It's a low first, so what would you say is a fair cap dump price for Murray? If not a first, then what? I see a team that doesn't have much cap room but needs to make a move. Trading Nylander isn't a good idea unless you're getting a player of equal value for less money, which isn't likely. Same goes for Marner. No one is giving you equal value for JT given his contract. No reason to move AM. Maybe you try and switch up the defense but I doubt you can convince Reilly to waive after he signed such a long deal. You could move Brodie out, but is the added cap room for trading him for a cheaper top-4 D going to clear enough room to add an impact player and replace Bunting? Probably not. I'm sure O'Reilly gives you a nice hometown discount, but who else will you keep at under $2 mil. You have $14 mil in space and need to fill seven forward spots. Are you ready to run it back again with the same team but maybe a different goalie? I'm sure the TOR faithful would be thrilled by that idea...</div></div>
You feel better now? Thinking you have some issues there - maybe you’re secretly a fan, always room for another member of Leafs nation.
Murray could be traded for FC; if not - buyout is totally viable option.
I appreciate the concern, but leafs are, and will be, fine. Decisions to be made but lots of room to make necessary moves . We’ll see what Tre does but having a bunch of superstar players on his roster (not too many teams can say the same) is not a bad place to start.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DReedy14</b></div><div>Good points. With this loaded of a draft, those picks in the 20s could very well end up legit middle-six forwards. There is such a massive group of talented guys who could go anywhere between like No. 8 and No. 28 that this would be insanely risky and maybe even stupid.
However, my thinking with this is that the Sharks have plenty of middle-six forward prospects (quantity) but lack truly high-potential prospects. Michkov fits that bill. He's looking like he could truly be a game-breaking talent. There's obviously risk with his contract status, being Russian, and whether or not he wants to leave to play in SJ. But if they can leave this draft with a new No. 1 center prospect AND an elite winger, I think that's worth giving away all those hypothetical picks. With Smith and Michkov, we could be looking at a Brayden Point/Nikita Kucherov combo.
I also think an overpay value-wise would be required to get AZ or PHI (or even WSH) to move down in the draft, given their need for high-end talent.
Also, thank you for your inputs. I appreciate the discussion!</div></div>
This draft is so deep and I feel we can get impact players into the 2nd round and I would rather have 3 1sts 2 2nds and 5 tries to get hopefully 4 NHLer a and 2 plus players vs 1 chance on an albeit star potential player.

It's an insane amount of picks to give up for one player. Michov would need to be amazing to justify that.

However, I'd be shocked if the Rangers couldn't get more than two thirds for him.</div></div>
Absolutely not, Strome is a 3rd line player who's value has been ridiculously inflated by playing with possibly MVP Panarin... In reality, he at all top 6 material. He is going to get 5Mil because of arbitration but doesn't deserve anything more than 3.5M. Sharks have no reason to get another inflated contract...

Here is JFresh's sheet on him, who i've been starting to use recently (patreon), which even with him having a good year, puts him at meh.
There isn't a single analytic which would say he is worth 5Mil. which is as big of a red flag as you can get.

Both you guys are heavily favoring your hometown player, truth is both players had monster years last years and down years this year both players are young and have tons of talent and both bring skill, Jonny hockey is the better player in this trade but not by much but this trade hurts both teams more than it helps them both sides should be intrigued but walk away from the table! That’s my opinion

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DReedy14</b></div><div>I like the idea of adding 3-4 players for lower contracts and smaller trades, rather than cashing out for Tofolli or Dadonov. I don't know if Galchenyuk is the right fit, but this would give the Sharks more flexibility AND allow them to draft two high prospects.
I'm seeing Händemark frequently listed as the 4th line center for next year on this site, is he really the next man up?
I don't know much about him, can y'all give me a quick scouting report?</div></div>
Handemark is big, durable and defensively conscious. He was a captain in swedens top league. He wont be scoring 20 goals in the nhl but the Sharks need a 4c who can handle himself in the corners, make hits and play defense. Hes not too young (26) so hes mature and experienced.
I also question Galchenyuk but i think he'll be willing to sign a cheap deal to play alongside some skilled forwards and maybe rejuvenate his career. It could potentially be a steal as most other scoring wingers are going to be wanting 4-6 million in UFA this summer which is out of the Sharks price range.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboJoe</b></div><div>too much for Foligno imo</div></div>
Foligno is one of the better defensive forwards in the game right now. Hes super strong and tough and plays the right side and can put up solid third line production. That 2nd is basically a 3rd so I think it’s well worth the price paid. Were likely losing Melker who has been a wizard on our PK. Foligno can bring everything Melk brought and more.
